Great to be nominated as an Ensemble. There was a very small cast playing several roles. I think I voiced 13!! Such a great bunch of talent and direction. Not Least Mackenzie Crook, and of course Jason Watkins in the title role, who is nominated best performance , quite rightly. It was a master class to watch. Lucy was a series regular in Eastenders for over 500 episodes, and has also appeared in Shakespeare in Love (1998), The Archers, and Heartstopper (2024).

Finished my birthday watching the unbelievably talented and soulful @mica_paris_soul it was such a fitting experience for my 50th. Echoing how I feel about the world , life and love not to mention the nostalgia of listening to Mica all my life and awe of her ( and her bands ) phenomenal abilities - I sobbed at one point like a teen over come with joy and pain and belonging. So here lies 50. Happy Half century to my fellow 76’ers. ( the good year) Born in a heat wave and now aging in one ! This is our summer. Personally I’ve never felt happier , healthier or more content. More ‘me’.
What a privilege it is to say that. I gave up so many of the frills this year, from day 1 , so I could really be present and ready. Alcohol being one. I’ve always been wary of it but it had begun to ‘let me off’ at 5 pm occasionally and coupled with peri menopause, it was stealing sleep and we all know that’s no good at this age! I didn’t want to switch off anymore. To be on this journey with all the trials and triumphs that can eventually lead to peace I realised was the whole point. Getting fitter, less tired and fully immersed in every second good or bad has made it one of the most important 8 months ever and I’ve achieved the level where I get to free the princess ( if we’re talking Mario or Donkey kong!) It’s not lost on me that this year has been one of the most challenging. 2026 has sadly thrown some serious shit at the whole world. For me tests have always come and some finally been laid to rest ( one hopes) , but every wrinkle that has been hard fought, every memory that serves as a warning or encouragement is mine to keep moulding and repackaging. Not everyone gets the space and time to do that. This weekend making more memories with my incredible family and steadfast friends, is a living reminder of this very abundant life I’ve lived. Though I am grateful I know I’m worthy as we ALL are. Every one in the world , every human is worthy of peace and joy and has a right to it. I know also that I wish only for my kids to be able to grow and fail and win , live every moment their unique way as I have. I wish that for everyone’s kids. At this time though the world seems imbalanced and teetering on the edge of a whole generations roll of the dice. That we have ignored so much inequality and cruelty still serves us all a flawed existence not least those generations behind us. None of us can truly find happiness when there’s inequality.Gen X -I hope we can all find the energy we always had to keep supporting ALL OUR CHILDREN. xx by @_lucyspeed_
