![This is my skin from August- December of 2022 and let me just give a little back story ..
SN: This if a semi-long post & you may have to rewatch after reading to see what I’m saying.
Okay! Soo August, I had some really small [but annoying] bumps on my cheek/chin area and at the time I was NOT taking my skincare as serious as I should have been. But I was being impulsive and did an at home chemical peel which wasn’t TERRIBLE but as you can see it made those tiny bumps way worse and hard to control. Then, FF two weeks into August, I took a family trip to Daytona/ Tampa and got Sunburned on one cheek..
Here is why I got sunburn the way I did.
1. Chemical peels do make your skin more susceptible to UV damage & even tho I was done peeling, my skin was still sensitive.
2. I was using tea tree to try and control the breakouts after the peel, tea tree also makes your skin susceptible to UV damage with direct exposure.
3. I left my sunscreen at home 😵💫
So after all the skin drama I got my sh🤬t together and got my skincare routine back on track.
Turmeric Bar AM/PM (helped keep my skin clean and even out the texture and dark spots)
Skin Balance Oil AM/PM (balance oil production so I wasn’t too oily or too dry)
Sunscreen AM [ @supergoop ]
Adapolene Gel PM [dermatologist prescribed]
You can see the gradual change from the end of August to December
August I was ready to give up on my skin but I’m glad I tightened up..
All this to say, be patient with yourself but also put in the work.. stop skipping skincare before bed, stop sleeping on dirty pillow cases, stop using dirty makeup brushes, pay attention to your diet and most importantly 👇🏾👇🏾
“ Y’all better come get one of these “ 🤣🤣
Get yourself a routine that works for you and STAY consistent. But also don’t be afraid to pivot as the seasons change, your hormones change, and ultimately your skin changes. by @_madewithpurelove](https://scontent-mia3-1.cdninstagram.com/v/t51.71878-15/590420761_882701680988076_5267161023295247942_n.jpg?stp=dst-jpg_e35_s640x640_tt6&_nc_cat=111&ccb=7-5&_nc_sid=18de74&efg=eyJlZmdfdGFnIjoiQ0xJUFMuYmVzdF9pbWFnZV91cmxnZW4uQzMifQ%3D%3D&_nc_ohc=m-orI_Wo6aoQ7kNvwE0ytg-&_nc_oc=AdrTquUNkcu8IrBMILJ52vwUvLay1Svste2-eurKw0XF1RWDajXN-BZIN3Ku532l7rmpCpC8cbX6nK6sDOEiIXsh&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-mia3-1.cdninstagram.com&_nc_gid=zENl-Z_K45eoesPtixQOUg&_nc_ss=70689&oh=00_AQT8iMpx2Y0v5NKWUZtfiWTe-Z0UIklZjLOee3yNFpYiZg&oe=6AEFB933)
