Monday Night Improv at Tendermesh

Mondays · 6–9 PM · Tendermesh, Berlin
Starting September 28th-November 2nd for the first 6 week unit.

A regular Monday-night improv class for building strong foundations, developing ensemble skills, and—most importantly—getting plenty of time to play.

The program runs 3–4 classes per month, balancing foundational improv training and group-focused practice.

Foundations — Oct. 5, 19th, and Nov. 2nd
These sessions focus on the building blocks of improv: listening, presence, spontaneity, accepting and building offers, character, relationships, scene work, and becoming more comfortable following your impulses. They’re a chance for newer improvisers to develop a solid foundation and for more experienced players to return to the essentials.

Group Improv & Games — Sept, 28, Oct 12, and 26th
These sessions shift the focus toward playing together. We’ll work on ensemble awareness, group mind, support, collaboration, group scenes, improv games, and exercises that help us become more responsive and generous players. Expect plenty of play and opportunities to experiment as a group.

The aim is to create a consistent space where people can practice improv regularly without needing to commit to a long course.

Joining & Pricing

You can join on a drop-in basis for €12–20 per class, or sign up for a six-class unit for €60–100 (pay for 5, get the 6th one for free)

Each six-week unit will also have up to two solidarity-rate places available for students who would otherwise be unable to participate because of cost. Please contact mweinhoffer479@gmail.com to book these places.

Classes are held Monday nights from 6–9 PM at Tendermesh Teilestr 11-16, Berlin 12099! (More videos to come about how to get there!)

Come sharpen your fundamentals, find new ways to play with others, take some risks, and spend your Monday evenings making things up together.

Feels like it’s been ages but were back for the first episode of October (that’s right there are gonna be 2 this month and a series of spooky recommendations as per usual) and this time we will dive into the 1974 Horror Comedy Rock Musical cult classic The Phantom of the Paradise. Get ready to hear me wax poetic about high school Madison and the scene from the movie that lives rent free forever in my mind. The songs are amazing and the amount of lawsuits this movie went through even more-excited to delve into October sharing this movie with you-and like always if you haven’t watched it yet…DO! I will be talking at you live on the air this Saturday from 14-15 if you live in Berlin on @90milradio and available on the archive afterwards to listen to at your leisure. Talk at you soon 🍿 #moviereview #movielover #moviereviews #madwrldsweirdviews #horrormovies taken in Berlin, Germany by @_madwrld_

What a gift to debut my high wire-death defying-funabulism act under the big top @zirkus_mond for @cabaretchaotik! Bet you didn’t know I could tight rope-So grateful to have been given the chance to clown for this show-and to have some stage antics along the way. Over the last two years I have been getting deeper and deeper into the role of the clown as a figure of support. To be able to hold space for vulnerability and failure and big laughs. The strategic role of clowning to offer a support system either energetic or technical for a show has become a huge part of my practice and a really big joy for me. It’s given me opportunities to place clowning in spaces that it didn’t exist before and to mercilessly drag my colleagues into the art of clown as well. So thank you to the cast and crew of this show! I had just the most fun a clown could have. ✨✨✨✨ and just one of the many amazing shots by @nics_stage_photography taken in Berlin, Germany by @_madwrld_

introducing our stage clown
MADISON WEINHOFFER

Clown! Puppeteer! Theatre Creature!

This professional do-er of too many things is classically trained but DIY staged.
Rooted in stage acting and physical theatre and fuelled by a love of making, Madison moves between clown, puppetry, performance, and whatever other theatrical trouble the moment requires.
This clown has a lot to express — and she’d much rather show you than tell you.

Come watch Madison try to keep our cast under control during our one night only show!

Tiny snippets and sneak peak of my solo show in progress: L(only). Utterly beyond stoked to keep working on this and to share it with more of you as it comes along…hopefully sooner than you think. But premiering this first half of this piece @countdowngrabowsee was really a gift. Being given time and space and lovely faces to share some vulnerable thoughts is all a part of this show and I’m so grateful it has been given legs to keep going. And for all those only children who shared with me…thank you. @robblaketv 👏 for these beautiful shots. #clownshow or #puppetshow…why not both taken in Berlin, Germany by @_madwrld_
