Michael Gier was one of the Torrance Community Dancers in Fatboy Slim's "Praise You" video. It won three VMAs, and Spike Jonze kept them, "which is why I don't have a moon man."

Then came soap operas, a real-estate business that collapsed in 2008, and a production company he started by hiring a college kid to "teach me everything." His new documentary, The Heroism and Resiliency of 9/11: From Tragedy to Triumph, is narrated by Gary Sinise.

What does it mean to make it?

Nichole took it as a verb: "I can't help but make it. I have to make all the time." What she wants is fewer barriers — "I would like to provide for my family by doing something that I love."

What's your answer? Full episode, link in bio.

What's the one thing money can't fix on a film set?

Nichole didn't pause: "How people feel, like how people are spoken to." A director who respects every department head and every person on set — "you can't buy that."

The icebreaker only a makeup artist can use.

Nichole: "Sometimes when I meet people now, I'm like, wait, have I touched you before?" If she hasn't, it's weird. If she has, they say yes.

Tag the makeup artist who's touched your face. Full episode, link in bio.

The part of fame you think you want is the part actors like least.

Nichole has spent years in the room with very famous people: "Their entire life is to be vulnerable and be a commodity." What they love is the set — "you get to have that autonomy in your craft."

A producer told Nichole to turn her series into a vertical. She said no.

Nichole: "I probably could do that and make money potentially and make it sooner… But I don't wanna."
Would you take the vertical deal? Full episode, link in bio.

AI background plate, or a local crew?

The argument on the show: an AI plate of Mumbai beats flying a crew of 20 to 40 across the world. Nichole Marie Lim's counter: "Why don't you just hire a local filmmaker and say, hey, I need this shot. Here's a budget." A day rate for a small local crew, and you have what you need.

Where's the middle? Tell us below. Full episode, link in bio.

Can you fake chemistry on screen?

Nichole Marie Lim: "Good actors can absolutely act their way into chemistry. But I think that at its core… people just have it or they don't." Two actors who look great on their own can look weird together, and nobody can tell you why.

Agree or disagree? Full episode, link in bio.

3 AM. A dark alley. Friends rolling around in chocolate syrup that's standing in for blood. The pay: zero dollars.

That's how Julius Ritter makes movies. He calls it permissionless work: no studio, no budget, no waiting for the phone to ring. New SUMMARIES, links in bio.

What's the most jobs you've ever done at once on a set?

Nichole Marie Lim held a boom mic while doing the only actress's powder. By hour 18 of a 20-hour day she was on the floor, sound headphones still on, putting fake glass and fake blood on that actress while a crewmate hand-fed everyone animal crackers and cream cheese. "I would go to hell and back for all of them." She also never wants to do it again.

Send this to the crew you'd go to hell and back for. Full episode, link in bio.
