I almost didn’t want to share these pictures…

I had planned this shoot for weeks — rented a camera, switched it off Auto into Manual, and set everything just how I wanted. The experience was amazing, and I was so excited… until I got home and realized one mistake: I shot everything in JPEG instead of RAW. 😔

In that moment, all the excitement drowned. I felt careless and questioned why I wasn’t observant enough.

But then, while listening to the Magic Mind Live hosted by @oluseyi_magic, I heard Uncle Kelechi Amadi-Obi share something that struck me: “Your IG page will not be judged by the best work, it’ll be judged by the worst work.” He went on to say, “Present your work with dignity.”

That reminder motivated me to share these images anyway — to focus on what really matters: the outcome, the joy of creating, and the lesson learnt (always double-check your settings, especially when the camera isn’t yours).

In this journey, I’ve learned to carry myself well. Whether I’m fully sure of what I’m doing or still figuring things out.

It’s not about pretending to have it all together.
It’s about showing up with calm confidence, doing the best I can with what I have.

Because people can feel how you carry yourself, even through your work.

So whatever I'm doing, or even if it feels like I'm “not doing much,” I do it gracefully, confidently, and with intention.

When I started taking pictures in church, I used to just "snap" and move.
But over time, I realized photography isn’t just about the camera, it’s about the eye behind it.

I started to notice things I used to overlook. The way light falls during worship, the quiet expressions during prayer, the joy in small gestures.

Those moments began to teach me patience, focus, and gratitude.

Now, I try to see stories before taking pictures.

One of those Sundays when I had to remind myself that growth doesn’t always feel comfortable…

I used to get so nervous before standing up to shoot, especially when everyone else was seated 😂
It always felt like all eyes were on me.

With time, I realized that being tensed isn’t always a bad thing, it simply means you care enough to want to do your best.

That truth stuck with me.
I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always feel comfortable, sometimes it looks like confidence on the outside, but a whole lot of “don’t mess this up” on the inside 😅

But that’s how confidence is built: one brave moment at a time.

I’ve realized there’s really no “perfect” place to start photography…
but my “perfect” place will always be in church 😁 (because why not?).

For me, it all started in campus fellowship, from just my choice to learn photography, and honestly, fear that I might not be fast enough on easy worship 😅 (even though I am now).

Thanks to @iamemmages and @nuelto_ , who were patient and open to teach me. What began as a simple choice has grown into a huge part of me.

Those moments have been the foundation of who I am now, and who I’m becoming.
They made me see that in service, you discover purpose.

Over the next couple of days, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite shots in church all captured with a mobile phone, along with a few lessons from my journey.
