September 21 is a “Day to Remember” in the the CHARGE syndrome community. Most of you know I have 2 brothers with a rare disorder that limits them in many ways. However, many of you may not know what CHARGE is and today I want to spread some awareness about it. This syndrome is very complex and affects each individual differently. My brothers are severely affected by CHARGE but they are also the most persistent and joyful people I have ever met! Despite the countless surgeries they’ve endured and numerous limitations, you can almost always find them with a smile on their face. I will forever be grateful for their impact they have had on me and I and wouldn’t change a thing about them. I am also beyond excited to be researching CHARGE this year at Mississippi State in the T.K. Martin Center, where I got to read a book about a little girl with CHARGE to the sweet preschoolers. My hope and prayer is that more people can be familiar with this unique disorder and learn to love the individuals who have it just as much as I do🤍🤍🤍 taken in TK Martin Center for Technology and Disability by @_marycatherineyoung
