rhys,
my days for the years to come will be spent thinking of you. i don’t know who i’d be today if it weren’t for you. you changed me in ways i never knew i needed.
we stayed up late binging tv shows, we drank together even though you were always skeptical of the practice, you drove me to get my scooter and to get my groceries and to and from the airport, we worked together, we played video games (whenever i had the sudden urge), we celebrated birthdays, holidays, and accomplishments, i watched you do your homework for two years straight, we laughed, we cried, and did everything in between. we could talk about anything under the sun for hours.
you taught me that i’m capable of holding onto lasting friendships with men, as long as they are as kind, considerate, funny, open-minded, and selfless as you. it’s always going to be my deepest regret in life that we spent our last months together strained, but i knew in my heart that it was just a bump in our relationship, and that you would be a consistent figure around me for the rest of my life, we were working through it.
rhys, lover of animals, superheroes, art, and his friends. you will always be remembered.

i love you forever.

Yesterday we wrapped on @withasicknessfilm and I just wanted to take a moment to share how proud I am of this cast and crew, but most of all: my creative partner, my favorite person, my best friend, and the Jo to my Harper @aliray.jpg . As your favorite memory of us, you always like to reference that night freshman year when we stayed up late together to finish assignments, but instead we drank wine, stained my only SCAD t-shirt red, watched dazed and confused, and talked about our creative aspirations. Thinking back on that now it’s insane to see how far you’ve come in just three years. As you know I was tearing up on set all weekend every time it hit me.
This project was a behemoth, and there were so many nights where you just wanted to break down and give up but I’m so glad you didn’t. It was so worth it, and even though it’s not mine, it is the thing I am most proud of to have been a part of during my time at SCAD.
To the rest of our (mostly) she/they cast & crew, you did such a phenomenal job making Alicia’s vision literally come to life out of her head and her Pinterest board. I am so grateful to you, and it was a joy working and hanging out with you all weekend. Sunday night after wrap Alicia and I were crying like babies about how great you all did. TRUST we will be thanking each of you individually with a little surprise coming your way.
Thank you everyone!
-MK (the Harper to Alicia’s Jo)
