“If there ever comes a day where we can’t be together, keep me in your heart I’ll stay there forever” - Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh was one of my favorite books and show as a young kid. As you grow up, you are read many many books from such a young age and as much as I believe that this is to help you learn to read, I believe they teach much more than that. I believe that they are there to instill in you life lessons that apply in times where you might need guidance and are without counsel.

I can’t lie and say that I don’t think about you everyday. I can’t lie and say that there isn’t a hole in my life where your presence once was. You will always be a part of me and I will forever be indebted to you for making me who I am. I wish you were here to counsel me or tell me what to do because grief and life in general is hard. You’ve taught me more than I need to know to be a good person and live this life I’ve been blessed with from the advice you gave me and even the books like Winnie the Pooh you read me. I love you mama and I know that you would want me to keep going and have joy. As hard as this will be I strive to embody joy and keep going. Love you mama. Can’t believe it’s been a year already. Miss you more than most could imagine. Glad to know that I will see you again. God is so good for that!
