i was kindly gifted @matchadiary.au’s hinode and momoyama blends to try! i will say, these are the prettiest tins of matcha i have ever got my hands on - the packaging to the sticker label and colour gradients😻 i prepared these my go-to way, cold whisking, but will definitely want to try preparing it traditionally for my next taste! ratio for both: 2g matcha 40ml soy milk (cold whisked) ice & 100ml soy milk splash of palm sugar syrup first impressions: both powders are fine and a lovely shade of green, momoyama having a more vibrant colour. hinode first taste: without sweetener- whisks very smooth but a little thin, nice and light to sip on, slightly umami with a mellow vegetal taste with sweetener- less vegetal leaving the taste to be a perfect light everyday matcha momoyama first taste: without sweetener- also whisks very smooth, has bitterness opposed to hinode, a much stronger umami profile and slightly astringent for me, thicker and creamier than hinode with sweetener- bitterness faded to a perfect amount of mild bitterness, a nice bolder taste profile ——— #matcha #matchalatte #matchalover #matchapowder #matchaholic by @_matchari

thank you @hojichahouse for gifting me these 2 blends to try💌 first time trying a dark roast hojicha and i was pleasantly surprised! it’s the perfect evening, late night or wintery drink (even though it’s the dead of summer rn 😢🌞) first taste ☕️ -> both whisks really smooth and creamy -> naturally sweet so i wouldn’t add sweetener next time -> no bitterness light roast: more mellow with hints of roasted flavour; a nice everyday night drink! 🌙🌃 dark roast: more roasted flavour, nutty; preferred this blend for more caramelly kick! 🌰 [🫙light roast hojicha] [🫙dark roast hojicha] ——— #hojicha #hojichalatte #hojichalover #hojichapowder #homecafe #aestheticdrinks #explore by @_matchari

i recently tried this blend from @rebelbunnymatcha and wasn’t super into the taste and notes… so i tried cold whisking it the next day using brown monkfruit sweetener and it gave out a much more floral 🌸 taste which i LOVED. so then i tried a blueberry cold whisked matcha and it was 👩🏻‍🍳😚 !!! will be using this matcha for cold whisking from now on!
