Yesterday I did something, which is OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE: Joining a public protest, in this case an ANIMAL RIGHTS MARCH. Here is WHY:- ANIMALS SUFFER TREMENDOUSLY under the systematic oppression and abuse by humans (this includes productions of meat, dairy, eggs, animal testing, leather & fur production). We humans can do better than that! - 70 BILLION land animals are KILLED ANNUALLY for human consumption (not including fish). Let that number sink in…- The majority of people still believes in some romantic idea of happy animals, which are "HUMANELY" and happily killed for us to enjoy "healthy" meal. It is far from the truth:- Killing an animal is an act of extreme VIOLENCE no matter if the animal has been labelled “organic/bio” or not. Watch “Dominion” on Youtube or go to a slaughterhouse if you disagree.- Humans do NOT need animal products to be healthy. In fact multiple national dietetic associations have confirmed that a “well-planned vegan and other types of vegetarian diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.”- Consuming animal products greatly increases your risk of HEART DISEASE, CANCER, DIABETES. This is a well-established fact!- The reality of industrial (and even local) ANIMAL AGRICULTURE is GRUESOME and NOBODY WANTS TO SEE IT. However it happens daily in staggering numbers - behind closed doors - and our consumption of animal products continues to fund these atrocities.- Politicians won’t change a damn thing about it. The VOICE OF CONSUMERS is needed. Every single person and his/her decisions is responsible for change.- Animal agriculture is a LEADING CAUSE of CLIMATE CHANGE and loss of biodiversity (see Oxford meta analysis from 2018).- Animals have NO CHOICE and NO VOICE, so WE NEED TO SPEAK UP for them as they are in a weaker position. On June 20th 2026, we celebrated a beautiful wedding at Rebecca’s dad’s house in Sicily, surrounded by our closest friends and family.For our wedding, we wanted to do more than just celebrate—we also wanted to make a positive difference for animals. Thanks to the generosity of our friends, we were able to raise €1,000 for the AlmaGea animal sanctuary @almagea.sanctuary (last 3 pictures). There, Christin gives rescued animals a life of safety, dignity, and respect—a life that was previously denied to them.For us, this was the most meaningful wedding gift of all: knowing that a day filled with love could also create something positive for other living beings.Our food and buffet were, of course, entirely vegan. 🌱Animals are not products. They are sentient individuals with a desire to live freely—free from human exploitation and oppression.Thank you to everyone who made this possible and celebrated this wonderful wedding with us. 💚 by @_max.cook_

Yesterday we did a voluntary beach clean-up after a recent storm brought a lot of plastic to the beach of Cava d’Aliga, our second home.Plastic pollution is a huge global problem. Some countries have better waste management, recycling systems, and infrastructure than others, but because so much plastic ends up in the oceans, it ultimately becomes a global issue. Over time it breaks down into microplastics that spread through ecosystems and even enter our food.Our beach clean-up was just a small symbolic action, but it felt good to remove some of the plastic and prevent it from entering the ecosystem.In general, we should follow the principle of reduce, reuse, recycle, and both individuals and organizations need to work together.
