next 365 serving on the CASL State Board!! - - if my casl journey has taught me anything, it’s that being authentically and unapologetically me will take me so much farther in life. This weekend, I danced with strangers, played my harmonica during election interviews, burped a couple names, said way too many vocal stims, and cried when I was really sad and really happy.
Turn surviving into thriving. Shy, elementary school maya attended LDD days. Middle school maya who came out of her shell and then went back into it after getting told she was too much hosted LDD days. Freshman maya who wasn’t physically well enough to go to school couldn’t attend Area E conferences but wanted to so badly. Sophomore maya who applied and didn’t make the finalist list went to the state conference where she finally felt at home, surrounded by people who embraced and celebrated her quirks. And finally, Junior maya who at the time struggled with getting up most mornings decided she was going to give the last of her energy into reapplying for casl. All different versions of myself, but all were so incredibly passionate about making a difference through casl. I can’t wait for what this year holds and I’m so excited!!! Thank you to everyone who voted for me this weekend, words can’t even describe how appreciative I am of every single person who supported and believed in me along the way. See you in June!!
