hey that’s been a whole lotta weeks since we did @lovemachinecycling x @eastoncycling WORD SEARCH at @bicicletta.cc - an incredible time with a whole lotta friends. big kudos to Max for pushing the idea and getting the format built out for human consumption.

I chose to do the Love Machine GavelBible Accurate route, though it seems a good handful of folks took a speedier route than I. fun to find there are still a few connectors I’d yet to explore. cheers to those that love a good word puzzle and some beautiful North Vancouver gravel.

the event crew over at Bici really gives it the beans - hopefully we can get out for another rip sometime soon. maybe I’ll keep the evening prior drinking to a minimum next time. 🍻

Lucky #7

7 years of #eastonoverland and 7 years of the team onsite at @unboundgravel - though I mayyyy have been offsite the year Nita was born 🎂 💕

In spite of how absolutely insane some years have been, 2026 delivered a true shitshow of humidity, mudpack, flash floods, baked clay, and lightning in forms I’d not experienced on the ground nor in the pits. A thousand existential crisis were had in the farmlands around Emporia. And to be fair, it’s not the first time, nor the last.

It had me thinking of all the years we’ve hit the ground out there, so I figured a little favourite team snaps roundup was worthwhile. I’m proud of our scrappy crew of privateers, the incredible community that coalesces around support for these races, and the way we show up to try and try again at the largest gravel race in the world.

It’s not always roses, hell it’s not even always a finish. But cheers to the crew that keeps on giving, we love you guys.

sometimes you find a little time to actually edit, and then find the time to actually post.

felt appropriate to post some California sunshine as we get a little rain in Vancouver 🌧️ photos primarily from our 7th annual @eastoncycling @ridefoxbike Overland Pre-Otter Ride - non invitational versions of the Scotts Valley to Laguna Seca have a longer run for sure, but outside the first year @emerytown and @craigrichey and I hammered it out, none have been as fun as the Overland versions 🤩

still in awe of the @lovemachinecycling x @castellicycling kit designs for our Lucky #7 Easton Overland team and the helmet wraps that @vcgraphix_ built for our @protectourwinters x @girocycling helmets ⛑️

it’s been a hectic 2(feels like a year!?) months since we hosted 74 @ridefoxbike friends, media, DIs in Finale Ligure and getting back on the 38 (and Sight!) yesterday after focusing on gravel at SOC had me reminiscing 💭

thanks to the crew at @backcountryfinale for the photos and slomo, and @dustenryen for catching me in my natural state: being an idiot.

For this edition of our Staff Bike Check series, we’re stoked to feature Matt Hornland and take a closer look at the lightweight weapon he’s been spinning on lately.👀

Matt (@_meat_ ) is our Content Strategist here at Race Face and a familiar face if you follow our product snapshot series, but that’s only part of what he does. He also manages PR and content strategy across our sister brands, connecting with media on product reviews, supporting the storytelling behind our products, and finding opportunities to amplify voices from the Race Face community.

On top of that, he leads the content team on a variety of shoots and projects, runs the @eastoncycling overland team, and still finds time to help out in the marketing warehouse, making sure our gear gets into the hands of athletes, media, and more.

Matt is one busy guy, and when he’s not being a dedicated family man or holding things down at work, he’s finding time to sneak out for a lap. While we secretly wanted to do a bike check on the cargo bike he uses to haul his two daughters around, this @yeticycles rig is pretty sweet too.🔥

A dedicated down-country rig, it’s built up with our latest ERA SL components, including wheels, bars, and cranks, along with an ERA chainring and Turbine SL stem to keep things light. On the suspension side, a @ridefoxbike 34SL fork and Float SL shock work together while the Transfer Neo dropper post ties the whole package together. @shimanomtb XTR handles stopping and shifting duties, and @schwalbetires keep Matt rubber side down (most of the time)...😅

a late solstice post - maybe it’s more of a Q4 report 👨🏼‍🏫📊

@bearcrossgrandprix @cyclingbc masters race podium feels like eons ago, but what a highlight. probably this years top racing related OKR. let me tell you what getting on a masters podium taught me about B2B sales. this year had its share of pure chaos impacting any kind of training schedule, but I do love that course and glad to hit a battle with @brettwakefield out there.

the rest of the fall was a whirlwind. a little bike riding, a lot of kid time, and so many things for @ridefoxbike as we prepped to launch an incredible project with @anthillfilms @redbullbike - crazy to see your name in the credits - thanks to the entire crew for pulling this together for the premier @whisfilmfest.

the cap on the season was getting in for a hernia surgery I’ve been putting off for almost 18 months. recovery means less big lifts and more @cadsit taking care of huffing the shareholders about, one of them is a whole year old now!

excited to be past the longest night, getting new goals on the books for 2026, and rebuilding some core muscles while trying not to cough 🩹. see you in the new year!

Bear 💕

my guy. the sweetest boy. the big snuggle. it wasn’t always easy for you, but love made you resilient. we had so many adventures, so many trips, so much joy - though I’ll never be convinced you liked camping. I’m so glad that even with a bum heart slowing you down you held on to meet Eva and Bella. Chessa, Nita, Brie and I already miss you so much it’s hard to finish this. we’ll keep the blankets warm for you if you ever want to visit, bring Bison if you see him.
