FCA leadership camp!! 🌟🫰🏼

This camp never fails to fill my cup with overflowing joy, God moves in amazing ways every year. Apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5), and this week reminded me to lean on the Lord and trust His plan. Our identity lies in Him and His grace is endless, you are never too far from God. Leadership camp is SO good, I cannot wait to experience the joy Heaven holds. Thank you Jesus for creating each of us so intentionally and having a good plan for our future!! 💓💓 by @_melissapatten_

Five years without you, here are five things I’ve learned:

1. God is always present. He knows what it’s like to have a broken heart. He is the source of peace, strength, and hope. In your best moments and your worst, His arms are open for you to run to.
Psalm 34:18

2. Love like Jesus. I have never known someone that reflected the love of God like she did— unconditional, sacrificial, SO joyful. Pray for them, smile, hug, it can make a world of difference in someone’s life.
John 13:34-35

3. Treasure every moment. A big takeaway from grief is learning that you don’t know when a moment will be the last. Spend time with the people you love, go out of your way for someone, live boldly. Resolve disagreements and forgive. Life is too precious to not fill your days with joy.
John 10:10

4. Find peace in God’s plan. Grief carries so many “why’s,” and the reality is that you may never know, but we serve a God who does. Suffering is an inevitable consequence of sin, but God didn’t leave you wandering alone in it. He knew every step you would take before you were born, and He knew you would be able to overcome your obstacles. Everything works out for good according to God’s perfect plan; He is the God of the impossible.
Jeremiah 29:11

5. It does get better!! I thought the pain would last forever, but over the last five years I have learned how to carry it differently. Healing is not linear; some days feel heavier than others, and that’s okay. Memories and reminders of her often bring me joy rather than heartache. My heart breaks when I think of everything she will and has missed, but how lucky was I to spend 14 years with my best friend. While the hole in my heart lies empty, I am filled by the joy of the Lord.

DELIGHTful weekend in TN with my favorite people 💗🌸

A weekend full of prayer, laughter, tears, learning, praise, and SO MUCH love. What an awesome, gracious God we serve. PTL for the wonderful women bringing the Lord onto their campuses, I pray we continue to make Jesus our Everything 🥰🙌
