A dream in Crimson and Cream

I have fulfilled a lifelong dream of entering the sisterhood of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. A dream I’ve held in my heart for so long. A dream that completes my mother’s legacy.

To you, Soror Mommy, you are my guiding light. For 22 years, I wanted to follow in your footsteps. You are the embodiment of beauty, intelligence, poise, and grace. Throughout my entire life, you have demonstrated the ideals of our illustrious sorority, and I knew that this was my destiny. You are my best friend, role model, and now, my soror. Thank you for everything. To a lifetime of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action with you.

To Jalen, four years ago, I followed in your footsteps and chose to attend Cornell University. Now, I have the privilege of being a part of the same yard as you. Your love, dedication, and steadfast commitment to Kappa and Iota Phi inspire me every single day. The Desravines’ legacy on Cornell’s campus is solidified. Thank you for showing me the way.

To My Prophytes, thank you for your guidance and constant support.

To My Lovely LS’s, I have always wanted sisters, and now I have them. You guys are my whole heart. I would not have wanted to be with anyone else on this journey. I love you all so much, and I will forever be my sister’s keeper.

Thank you, God
Thank you, Mom
Thank you, Aunt Carla
Thank you, Mu Gamma
Thank you, Delta

The legacy continues…

With all of my love,
Mia Bella Desravines

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
