“The opportunity to choose my own path is already a privilege” @_miajay is a producer and multi-instrumentalist based in West London who also works as a social strategist. Growing up in a mixed Caribbean household, she was surrounded by sounds from around the world. Learning instruments ranging from guitar and violin to the guzheng shaped her belief that creativity isn’t confined by genre or geography. The most exciting music, she believes, happens where different influences meet. That curiosity continues to shape her sound today, blending the energy of dancehall and Afrobeats with elements of flamenco and R&B. Whether in the studio or performing across London, her goal is to create music that feels honest and expansive and connects with people wherever they’re from. Alongside her own artistry, she helps musicians and brands build meaningful digital communities through social strategy. Her ambition is to create that same sense of connection through her own music.
