If I was given the opportunity to magically go back and redo the past year of my life, I would turn it down. There are countless things that I resent. I wish I accomplished more than I did, I wish I could’ve started college instead of taking a gap year, and I wish I didn’t have to spend months away from home for treatment. I used to think that all of the decisions I have made were the wrong ones. Over time, I have come to be grateful for those decisions. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have received the help that I desperately needed. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have crossed paths with some of the most amazing people I have ever met. If it weren’t for them, I probably wouldn’t have learned that it’s ok to care for myself. Thank you to all of the people that have made these past few months bearable and even somewhat enjoyable. Did 2024 go as expected? Absolutely not. Did it suck? Most definitely. Some good came from it, though. I finally escaped high school, I got the chance to meet some really amazing people, and I took some time to focus myself. This year was full of a whole lot of difficult decisions. I still debate whether or not I made the right choice for some of them, but I believe that it will all still work out in the scheme of things. What really matters is that I didn’t give up. I made it through, and I’ll do the same for 2025. Good riddance to 2024👏👏 by @_mollystover_
