Oh, to be pretty, educated, and a black woman 🤏🏽

If you had asked me in November 2024 if I’d be writing this caption today, I probably would’ve told you definitely NOT… but GOD!

On May 8, 2026, I will be graduating from Valdosta State University with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. This degree means more to me than anyone will ever truly know ❣️

Becoming a therapist meant reshaping my entire way of thinking—becoming more patient, more kind, and realizing that our differences are what make a difference. This journey has bettered me as a person, allowed me to create change, and positioned me to be a vessel in people’s lives. For that, I will be forever grateful.

I would like to thank God, my family, friends, mentors, supervisors, and work family for supporting me through this journey because it was anything but easy. In February 2025, God told me to keep Him first, and He would handle the rest—and He did just that and so much more!

Romans 8:18 says, “The pain that you’ve been feeling cannot compare to the joy that is coming.” My life is a living testimony to this scripture, and the best is still yet to come.

My biggest flex is that God kept His hands over my life. All praise, glory, and honor belong to Him because I don’t look like what I’ve been through! by @_moreofbri
