Yes you’re getting a double post because I ran a 10 mile race and I’m so proud of myself and the endorphins are strong and I’ve never been so proud of my body!!!

I honestly wish I could replay the race. Even though I had to wake up at 5 a.m. Even though I doubted myself, I friggin’ did it. I have been running for four years and I topped my own best pace effort. I am gonna be on a natural high all week. by @_morganjerkins

I did the Bronx 10 mile today! I was unsure of doing this race because summer training was not easy, mentally speaking. I’m juggling a job, a book, and other personal transitions so I’m on cognitive overload right now. But the energy was amazing, the weather was PERFECT, and I got to see so much of the borough. It was a celebration of my own body and I’m glad I had @womenmakemoves cheering me on.

Thank you to all the volunteers, run clubs, and DJs to help keep the runners’ spirits high!

For my latest piece, I learned about clown activists who use humor and absurdity as a defense strategy against white supremacy and xenophobia. The stories about their advocacy, including animal rights speeches and distracting techniques to curb 🧊 raids, moved me.

After endless thunderstorms and humid periods, we got a Saturday full of glorious weather, low humidity, and a consistent breeze! ☀️

That means block party time with my partner and friends, making some new ones in a garden while grapes dangled above our heads, and dancing to Solange, Chaka Khan, disco and house music throughout the night. by @_morganjerkins

For @guardian_us, I wrote about the intersection between Black motorcycle culture and the summertime. The two wheels represent more than adventure; it’s symbolic of community, civic engagement, and the joy within the freedom of movement—an historical battle for Black Americans that’s now a beautiful inheritance.

Summers in New York make me realize why living here for the past 11 years was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made for my life.

I’ve been in Brooklyn for only a few short years but I love this borough, and this @saintjamesjoy block party reinforced my commitment to this place: a multigenerational and diverse crowd, great music, food and drinks. I celebrated my birthday with people I love, pasta to die for, and a few lemon drop martinis with an Amari to close the night.
