There are not words for the emptiness that we all feel after the loss of our dear friend Collin. He brought so much energy and joy to every room that he walked into and I was so blessed to call him one of my best friends. When I heard the news a broken and hurting pit fell into my stomach that has not gone away and probably won’t ever fully go away. He was so loved.

Myself and all of us have gone through every what if, holding onto even the smallest spark of hope that somehow we could change what happened and watch him walk back into the room. But what happened has happened, and it’s the worst kind of reality to accept.
I never wanted to know what it feels like to lose a friend, especially someone so close to me at 19 years old. It’s hard to accept that the only way my kids will ever know him is through memories and stories. And I don’t want those memories of him to ever start feeling distant.

We went on the most elite side quests together like going to UGA for a weekend and purposefully not planning a single part of it (his idea) and those are memories I will cherish forever and there is no one in this world that I would rather share those memories with. More than being one of my best friends he was my training partner and I got to spend the winter of my senior year just me and him. We went through the thick of it together, and we pushed each other hard to become better runners and better people. I love you so much Collin and I will see you again.

“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” Luke 6:28. This is a verse that Collin sent me twice and a lesson he shared with me so I want him to share it with y’all also.
