The unedited file for this photo surfaced when I was searching for something else in Google Photos with the keyword "columns". If I could organize like a normal person I wouldn't have to search for files with keywords, but it is kind of fun to see what the app will pull up, including things I had forgotten about and never got around to working on. Turns out I liked this photo better than what I was searching for.

Well this is exciting. A representative from The Guardian UK contacted me a few weeks ago for permission to purchase the rights to feature a photo of mine (captured in Via Bicycle on South Broad and originally posted here in October of '23) in their Smart Shot weekend segment. I honestly thought I was being scammed before quadruple cross-reference checking everything, but the offer was legit and the photo was posted in today's edition, along with a brief but well written interview by staff writer Grace Holliday. To say I'm honored to be included would be a massive understatement. Enormous thanks to @lousiroy, Ms. Holliday and The Guardian @gdnsaturday for this wonderful opportunity!

Another capture from February, the same night as my previous post. This was taken on the way to Rittenhouse Square on South 18th St, near Spruce. Despite the amazing (Furness) Joshua Husband House that's just out of frame to the left, this synagogue also frequently grabs my attention. This night especially when a gust of wind blew snow from the surrounding trees as I was passing.

I've been digging around some things from a bit earlier in the year. If I don't get out as often as I'd like I always have a back log of photos to mess around with. This was taken in February of this year, in Rittenhouse Square.
Also, if business can push back to school and Christmas and whatever earlier every year, two can play at that game!

(Though I'm not really ready for Summer to end 🌞)

I used to dislike rain quite a lot, but among other things photography has taught me, not only is there no such thing as "bad" weather, it can be the best weather from a different perspective.
I mean except for 900 degree weather that sh can f right off.

So this place used to be called "Mighty Writers" and I've walked past it a million times and never really knew what it was but totally imagined it to be an awesome space for kids to foster a love of reading and writing. I just noticed the sign changed and now it's called "Universal Education Management Company, The Wellness of You, Inc." and now feel slightly sick to my stomach.

Edit: If you look closely, it appears that they just reversed the panels of the original sign and printed the new name on the back. Seems fitting.
