Thank you God for basketball and every moment this sport has ever given me. Thank you to my family for sacrificing time, money, and free time for me to play this sport I love. Basketball, I could never explain the lessons you have taught me. Persevering through adversity, long days, and pushing myself to exhaustion you have made me a stronger man. I have grown up through an orange ball that has changed my life for the better. It’s shaped me as a man, to be humble, shown me what it’s like to have a family, and to trust the man next to me. Since I was a kid, playing basketball was a way to get away and clear my head. A sport that was just a fun time is now apart of me and brought me memories I’ll never be able to forget. To the coaches I can’t say thank you enough. Coach Sanders, Gray, Chandler, Pate, and May you all made basketball so much fun for me. I almost felt like a brother to you all, I am so close to all of y’all forever because of it. On the court you all taught me how to fight, to never give up, and insight of the game. I’ve seen the relationship I have built with you all and I now want to do what y’all have done for me to other kids when I become a coach. To the players below me, don’t take the time you have for granted!!! Juniors you only have 31 guaranteed games left, sophomores you only have 62 guaranteed games left, and freshman you only have 93 guaranteed games left! In a heart beat y’all will be where I am today, I didn’t believe it when I was told the same thing but trust me you’re going to want it back if you don’t take advantage of it. I’d do anything to carry the speaker, practice for hours, or run down and backs. Those days seem hard and at times not worth it but with the end result you’ll be glad you did it. Take skill work serious, film serious, and off-season work serious. I wish I could get it back but I couldn’t be more thankful for all basketball has done for me. It didn’t end the way me or the seniors wanted it to. But to the young bucks behind me, there is a standard for y’all and I expect it to be kept. Y’all have all the potential in the world, now go work and get what you all deserve. Thank you God and thank you basketball. #4 out by @_nathancox304
