Join us to celebrate the triumphant return of the Sound Studio concert series on 9/26 with an absolutely stunning lineup including Low Pass friends old and new! @williamfieldsy , who’ll be performing alongside multimedia artist @_ng_v , intro’d us to Brett Bullion aka @deepglens over the summer. As soon as we heard his new LP ‘carver’ we absolutely knew we had to get him to Philly ASAP!

Expect a strong 90s Warp Records undercurrent, but prepare your ears for shades of electronica that span a wide gamut including analog explorations of modular synthesist @sandrajamesart and the fluidic experimentations of beloved @thelowpass alum @_pureply taken in 2223 FISH by @_ng_v

I’m so pleased to have the American debut of Transplant in its full audio-visual form at East-On Festival September 18-20. This contemplative work based on brain and movement data was first enjoyed by MTL audiences thanks to the amazing curation of @sarahmackenzie at @mutekmontreal and now by the wonderful festival organizers at @eastonfest who have been so great every step of the planning. Transplant is one of my favorite installations because of the way I used data in my programming and also because it’s one of those pieces that despite any technical complexity, is enjoyed by anyone, even small children, as a salve to the eyes, ears, and nervous system. #touchdesigner #danceandtechnology #newmediaart #artandtechnology #eeg by @_ng_v

Play my new choreographic web-based app! To play it, screenshot the QR code at the end of this video, save it to your Photos app, and long press the image to take you right to the app. I’ve been wanting to make something like this for a while; it’s an ambient choreographic activity. I hope you find it relaxing and creative! #danceandtechnology #touchdesigner #newmediaart #interactiveart #creativecoding Dancing: @daniil.zakirzyanov choreographic direction: @jhdan2 music direction/mastering: @vidikulous music: @fulviovincent @grace.ricci and Gabi Love. by @_ng_v

[Artist of the Week #41] @_ng_v

Nora Gibson merges movement and the poetic use of physiological data, investigating the body-mind through digital choreography. Coming from a background as a dancer and choreographer, she crafts interactive installations and visual systems that capture the spirit of movement—often utilizing TouchDesigner, volumetric capture, and sensors measuring brain, heart, and body activity.

"A tenant that I hold is: movement is life. When I define liveness with this metric, it helps me to see poetry in ordinary movement and to see connections I might not otherwise make."

Follow @_ng_v to explore her remarkable work and see how she transforms physiological data and technology into digital choreography.

Thanks, @cubicten.co and @apspace_official : Danya looked incredible on that eye-popping LED display. It’s going to be hard to go back to projectors after seeing my work on that! Dancer: @daniil.zakirzyanov #newmediaart #touchdesigner #danceandtechnology #nycart by @_ng_v

In this process, I scanned and created 3d volumetric point cloud renders of three dancers programmed in #touchdesigner ,extracted images of poses I found interesting from those video segments, chose the style reference in an AI video tool to make small 3-8 sec clips that connected one image to the next, then took those clips to a video editor to make the final render.
