Happy release @jazarahjasmine for ‘unfinished business’!! This whole song began after we caught up to write and she told me a story about someone and mentioned they had unfinished business and then i was like — 🧐 wait a minute hahaha and the song was birthed. Working with Jazarah has been such a fun, creatively refreshing experience!! Excited for what’s ahead hehe and hope my dream comes true of this landing in a coming of age netflix series 😭🥲!! Crying on the Dancefloor is yours now and forever. 🎉@willqcunningham and I wrote this just before covid began, and immediately knew we had landed on something special. There was a series of wild ‘almosts’ with this song and a few others that ultimately fell through in between 2020 and now. Next time we sit down for a beer I’ll give you the long story 🤣 This project has been a struggle due to so many reasons, and factors us for quite some time, to be quite honest both will and I thought this would never come out. The thing that kept this project going was ultimately - the songs. Here we are now 6 years later… I’m so proud that this project could see the light of day. There are so many unseen people that believed in this project, my late manager Di Torossian being one of them told me she had listened to the demos at least a hundred times & great A&R veteran Peter Karpin as well as @matthewdbondi my original publisher! We would love to dedicate this project to Di and her memory. I cannot thank everyone enough who has believed in this project and can’t wait for you to hear the songs to come. Formally introducing Academy!! WooooFor years people have asked when I’d do my own solo project… well this ain’t it. This is a fun, creative, collaborative project I started with my mate Will Cunningham nearly seven years ago. We began writing songs we absolutely loved, but for a bunch of reasons, we could never release them the way we wanted.Now, we’re going back to the roots… creating records we love with our friends. This project will feature a mix of incredible creatives, artists, and voices, and we honestly can’t wait to share it all with you!💿 Debut single: ‘Crying on the Dancefloor’ drops next Thursday the 25th of June, featuring Will’s amazing voice! ‘Here Now’ is officially here, now!! 🥊 ⚡️ Congrats Dani for releasing this one after a lil 8 month break from releasing, it was worth the wait!! This one came together when we wrote it in LA last year with the great creative mind of @iamgregorydillon aka @frutigerdillon who also co-produced it with me. This was a super impactful session for us because it really shaped Dani’s next era and the wonderful Greg gave us so many great insights for Dani’s creative direction. Congrats to @holly_riva on the amazing release of ‘Role Play’ 🔥!!! This song was one of the quickest songs i’ve ever been part of and all the vocals and most of the prod was from the day we wrote it which speaks volumes to the talent of Holly! Was such a fun song to be part of and super grateful to have a song under our belt out there… DT would be so proud of us 🙌🙏🥹 Ps. ‘Sweet’ is out everywhere now!! @dani_marchio and I wrote this song right before my PATØN PLACE showcase back in 2023 as a bit of a chill one to throw in the set and what resulted was a beautiful expression of Dani’s heart.
