I thought she would live forever.
My gogg. My best friend. My favorite person in the world. Who I’ve been lucky enough to live with my whole life. Not only was she my gogg, but she stepped into play roles that were missing in my life. As an only child & my dad passing away when I was 1, she stepped in as my second parent when my mom had to work. She would take me & pick me up from the bus. Helped raise me. She was my sibling as a kid when I had no one else to play with. I didn’t have a sister or a brother to annoy to come play with me. So I bothered her. Everyday she played outside with me. Gogg was my best friend. I went to church with her because I wanted to hangout with her. It was mostly people her age. And my love for the elderly developed. After church, we would go out to lunch with her friends, go to their houses, go shopping. Without my gogg I wouldn’t be doing what I do today. She is the reason I love the elderly the way I do. I grew up with them as my friends. Hanging out with them on the weekends. Watching the golden girls and Shirley temple. My gogg is the reason for my heart I have. She is the reason I get up and go to work everyday. Gogg was my sidekick. She would sign anything in elementary school I didn’t want my mother to see. And sneak me checks to go stick in the post office mail box so my mom & aunt didn’t know she was making another purchase off QVC. We snuck around together. We would talk to each other with our eyes and facial expressions when we didn’t agree with my mom and aunt. Although our ages were at completely opposite ends of the spectrum, we truly had a sister bond. I will miss her as my first thing I see sitting in her chair when I came through the front door. Growing up with a grandma who not only gets to be your grandma but your second mother, sister, and best friend all in one - there’s nothing like it. I am broken. She meant everything to me. I will miss you gogg every single minute. Without you there’s no me. You’ve kept me going when I didn’t want to. You were my favorite person to ever exist. And although I told you it was okay to go, I need you, and I don’t ever want to live a day without you. I love you more, always.💔 by @_nicoleanderson
