Hello, August 😊

Somehow, August and November have the same vibe, even though they have different colors: the former is orange-brown, and the latter is a reddish purple. January also feels like a purple.

Oh well, we're still on track to do great things eh? 'Cause the year flying by doesn't mean you should rest and wait for 2027. It is just time - it will pass.

Hey, night owls.

- 'Night owl' is a weird thing to say: owls ARE nocturnal by nature. Kind of like saying ATM machine...
- I've been watching Elsbeth, and I'm somewhere in Season 2 now. She's this quirky Chicago lawyer-turned-New York police consultant that I thought would start irking me by the end of S1. I am pleasantly surprised that I really, really like her character. With her 3 tote bags that she's always carrying. What's in them? Why is she always carrying them? We might never know: what we do know, is she's smart.
- That picture is of her and Judge Crawford, aka actor and boss, in Season 2. He's a corrupt judge, and she's bent on taking him down. Guess what? They're a real-life married couple! Anytime I see them all 'watch your back' 'I'll get you' 'Your move' and being all devious and antagonistic towards each other, I'm giggling at the screen yelling, "That's your spouse!" 😅
- The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan. At this point, everything I now about that movie is against my will. I still want to watch it though. If you want to gist about it - the Greek myth, not the movie - ask me your questions, lemme gist you. I love talking about the Greek myths 😁.
- And yes, the Odyssey is named after Odysseus, because the odyssey is about the journey of Odysseus (and, as such, 'odyssey' means 'journey').
- Some encouragement I've been using for myself, that you might need: that thing you believe you have to do, that you're scared of doing? Do it like nobody's watching.

Who watches The Real Housewives in Bravo?

Please, why do we watch it?

I watched The Residence some time last month, and I. Loved. It! I generally love detective stories and murder mysteries and what not, and was really excited to watch this because that African-Italian guy who is often cast as a Latino/Hispanic boss was cast in this to replace Andre Braugher (Captain Holt, my fellow B99 fans) who died of cancer during filming.

This is also my first time seeing Uzo in anything, and it was good. Good good. Kinda sad that there won't be a second season, but yeah, watch this. It's good.

Certain books are better read as audiobooks, I have found.

There's no way I'd've Mark Manson's book that I have read, if which I have had a copy for years before finding it on Everand and listening to it. Good book, but I wouldn't have read that paperback.

Joe Abercrombie is another favourite, and his most recent that I have read, The Devils, I haven't finished, because at some point I'm like 'Okay, that's enough', even though the story is really cool. The audiobook is beautifully narrated, and there're so many laugh-out-loud moments, but I laughed the most when the uppity magician's name was called.

Balthazar Sham Ivam Draxi. He's a pompous fool 🤣🤣🤣

Hello, June!

- Was reading an article and saw the name 'Schroeder', and I am pretty sure I pronounced it correctly and kept reading. Later, I marveled at the fact that I didn't stress about the 4 consonants stacked at the beginning with the odd looking vowel combo that followed: I just knew how to say it. My name is Nguhiden - (n)guHEEden - the first 'n' is mostly silent. Don't worry; you will learn.

- I put a freebie access pass in my last newsletter at the very bottom of said newsletter. Stats show that the newsletter was opened and read by a couple of people, but no one jumped at the chance until I posted it in a group. Y'all don't be reading? Or you just didn't think to pass on the freebie info to someone in your circle who could use it? Anywho, the thing reappears in today's newsletter, with diminished slots: shoot your shot! (Or shoot for a friend!)

- It's okay to feel tired. It means you need rest. Tired and quitting are not the same thing, though. For some things, important things, Kingdom things, quitting is NOT okay. Redirection, sure; quitting, no.

Well. Okay. So,

A friend had asked me why I wasn't monetizing my Facebook (you write so well!) and I said I wasn't consistent, and wanting to make money from social media would put me under a lot of [undue] pressure.

And then I see this notification, and then I realize that one has to be invited to be able to monetize this thing.

I had no idea.

I have no idea if I'm going to either.

It's wild how, as a new mum, most old mums - and random teenagers - make it their singular honor to assure you that you know nothing, and you're doing nothing right. A woman is most vulnerable when she is pregnant, and just after she's given birth. Let's be discerning. Let empathy reign.
