A little post for myself. Happy Mother’s Day to me 💐. Two yrs ago I became a mother and it has been one of the greatest honors of my life. The journey of growing a human being from scratch lol & childbirth were one of the most amazing yet scariest, bittersweet experiences of my life. From grieving your past self, navigating your emotions, to finding your pink again all while trying to keep a brand new human alive is something our parents and grandparents definitely left out of the Pregnancy/Motherhood brochure. During the first yr after my daughter’s birth I experienced PPD & its not something easily overcome ESPECIALLY not by yourself. I have to give all thanks to my bff, my Sister 4life @_blvcktivist_ for always being there to support me, helping me come out of that dark place and drag me out the house or just chill inside on days when I didn’t have the energy to go out. I am forever grateful for her & my little sunshine, they bring so much light to my life. Motherhood continues to challenge & teach me daily. To all the mommas out there you are stronger than you think. Believe in yourself. Keep moving forward one day at a time one step at a time just when you feel like giving up the universe will make way for you! I had the honor of attending @wheninlondyn_ wedding on 11.22 with my bff @_blvcktivist_ & I must say it was it was a beautiful sight to see (literally brought tears to my eyes). Not only love but black love to be so clearly displayed from the newly weds all the way to their family and friends! The ceremony and reception was gorgeous it was so thought out, not a detailed missed (Thank you for the blankets, it was burr outside 🥶).
