Terry was a deeply compassionate and fiercely committed harm reductionist who formed meaningful connections with everyone she met. During her time at RTI, she taught us the importance of approaching research with humility, curiosity, and respect. She showed us how to deepen our understanding of the communities at the heart of our work by first listening to and learning from participant’s lived experiences. Her guidance helped us build stronger relationships, foster more authentic engagement, and ask the questions that truly mattered. Her impact on our work, and on all of us who had the privilege of working alongside her, will be lasting. #harmreductionheroes by @_nsssp

#zeroHIVstigmaday is observed on July 21 in honor of Prudence Mabele (July 21, 1971–July 10, 2017), one of the first Black South African women to share her HIV status publicly when HIV-related stigma was at its peak. Her transparency helped challenge harmful narratives and inspired others to speak openly, seek care, and advocate for change. Reducing HIV stigma starts with compassion, and SSPs demonstrate that every day. Thank you for creating welcoming, judgment-free spaces where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. by @_nsssp
