So…how are we doing charden nation? Genuinely what the fuck even happened I still can’t believe what happened! WOW! This edit was so cathartic and it makes sense why it was! I only got around to Sunny earlier this year, and from episode one I just felt specially attached to Charlie and Dennis as a pairing. Ever since I have not wavered in my passion and bias for them and their dynamic, but knowing the show I did figure that I was always going to be working with crumbs. But then season 18 dropped, the first season I’ve ever experienced live, and by some miracle I didn’t have to go off crumbs for long because THEY GAVE ME A BAKERY! Or, something like that rhrhdhrhr I JUST GOT SO LUCKY I GOT INTO SUNNY AND CHARDEN WHEN I DID! I felt a weird sense of victory hehe! I put that feeling of relief and joy into this edit best I could! Because Dennis and Charlie also got to feel their own sense of it too! Dennis got to be relieved of his fears and enjoy himself, and Charlie got to be relieved of his tension with Dennis and have fun with his best friend again! First thing I did was pick an audio since I immediately knew what song suited both them and their specific roof scene, which of COURSE had to be a cheesy 80s ballad because every song of that genre is so charden to me! But, actually making this edit I will say I struggled a lot! I had a vision in my head of the scenes slowly moving from right to left and fading into each other, with the text moving along with it, sort of like an iMovie type thing! But sadly I hadn’t done it before and couldn’t quite capture it the exact way I wanted. With that said, even if for a long few days I was hard on myself about how it looked, the kind words of some friends have helped me see the beauty in it and I am so thankful! The coloring I picked felt very muddy and vintage to me and was perfect for the vcr look I was shooting for! I hope this edit made charden nation happy! It made me endlessly happy to make it! Something really poignant about this scene is not just that it’s only Charlie who could’ve helped Dennis in this moment, but also that…Charlie is arguably the most paranoid and anxious person of the entire group. Sure, he can come off as laid back with his riskier lifestyle, but the show makes it clear that when Charlie is out of his albeit unconventional comfort zone, that he is terrified of the outside world. Plenty of us have mentioned the parallels with The Gang Hits the Road, and Dennis comforting him about leaving Philly, but also The Gang Gets Stranded, where they literally knock him out and throw him in a trunk as a way to get him to travel because it scares him so much. Anywhere outside of where he is comfortable terrifies him. Even in King of the Rats, he is seen unable to keep calm doing basic leisurely activities that he isn’t used to doing himself. Charlie is ridden with anxiety and it translates in his energy and impulsiveness in an odd contradictory way. So, the fact that it was Charlie here comforting Dennis about a fear he had always had, despite he himself being scared of so much really says a lot about how much he cares for Dennis. It says even more about how far he has come with a lot of those fears he had, pretty much all of them alleviated by Dennis. The road trip, the woods, the cruise. Dennis is the friend that has made the world a whole lot less scary for him, and all he wants is to make Dennis feel the same. Charden is so real, and so special. Thank you season 18 for reminding everyone of that. They will always be my number ones. :’3

SEASON 18 FINALE DEN YOUR IMPACT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY! He deserved to talk about it his feelings finally whaa! I love him so much I love him so much and no edit of mine could do him justice but I sure tried! I immediately knew for my edit theme that I’d want there to be a moon and stars in some way, but I wasn’t sure about coloring or the specific starry sky vibe I wanted to go for! I originally planned for a more muted black sky look, but then I thought about how much I love photos of the stars that are purple and blue. And then I thought more about the aesthetic associated with those colors and immediately thought of that tacky genre of shirts (but glorious, I have one but it’s almost completely faded) of wolves howling on it with a moon and stars graphic, usually in blue, purple, or both colors! And then I was like holy shit, that goes with the inner wolf thing and howling with Charlie so well, and wondered why it wasn’t the first specific theme I thought of! So that’s the style I went for, tacky wolf howling shirt! :3 The only reason I was hesitant to do such an intense coloring was really because any time I’ve edited Dennis I’ve only ever used either a more natural coloring, or a flat coloring that’s a bit more muted, so I was nervous it wouldn’t fit his vibe but for this edit I think it worked awesome and I love seeing him basked in purple! Purple is my favorite color and he is my favorite guy right now so. ^ ^ I just love his sneaking around (haha) outfit he had too, it was a no brainer choosing it as my favorite of the episode! He went an oddly stylish route with it, I love the bomber over the hoodie, and I really really love his hair this episode and this whole season! And he’s just so pretty in general aaaa! Even though most of these scenes he is shimmering with sweat, he kind of just reminded me of a shiny crystal. :) Aaaaa he makes me so happy! I miss him so much already!
