Ozone, 1994

I’ve starred painting freight trainsn long, long ago and although I changed my name from “Ozone” to “Nyse” in 1988 after a little too much publicity, I still would paint my original moniker on occasion- I really like painting those letters. This train was one of those times.

Quake TFL, 1996
23rd Yard, East Oakland

30 years ago, I used to trade some hard flicks with @ogmikegiant - he always labeled them with a sharpie on the back and always included the artist name, the location and the year.

This is one of those flicks. I don’t think I ever met his friend Quake, but I always thought this piece was really ill.

Cairo, OA crew 1996
San Diego, Ca

Cairo, along with his friend Destn, were really known for being up all city as taggers, as well as painting many freights. So this piece he painted at my UCSD Electric yard is a rare one.

Once Again Crew (OAC) had a long minute in the history of San Diego graffiti. I was fortunate enough to paint with a number of them back in the day and share some truly crazy times together. Big ups to all those guys! #historyofgraffitisandiego #onceagaincrew #historyofgraffiti #graffiti #nyseone @cuts.and.glory taken in San Diego, California by @_nyseone

Tyke AWR, 1997
San Diego

The innate ability to step to a wall and completely crush it is clearly illustrated here, by @tykewitnesawr .

This piece is from another epic AWR field trip to the yards of San Diego.

“Sorry folks, where’s the trains?” 🧐Evidently, it was one of those night missions when you are forced to invoke plan “B”.

“Karizma” by Demo 1994
DT San Diego

Demo (RIP) was an extremely exceptional graffiti letter artist, from the DFC and GI crews in San Diego. This piece was part of a bigger production that, for some reason I did not take part in, but I know Zane @zanekingcade and a few others painted.

Angels Will Rise, 1997
Venice pavillion

Photo of people chilling in the shadows of giants, and I’m not talking about the palm trees. Legendary production by members of the Angels Will Rise crew.

This photo was taken on the same day I painted my “brain” piece on the big wall to the right of this. It was oppressively hot. We were there for like eight hours, it was a brutal day to paint.
-
Saber- @saberawr painted the buildings.
-
Coax - @sonny_gerasimowicz painted the top two characters.
-
Krush - @krushthemagus painted the “Angels” letters
-
Booh- @swampdiamonds - painted the character of the left. Blend by Merk
-
Tyke- @tykewitnesawr painted the “Will”.
-
2Tone - @alex2tone painted the “Rise”.

Nyse, 1995
DT San Diego

There were a few of my GI and DFC homies painting the back wall of an adjacent building which faced a parking lot, but I showed up late, and there were no spots left. So even though we didn’t have permission for this wall, it had some gang graffiti on it and a few tags… it was Sunday morning. What’s the worst thing that could possibly happen? So I just posted up and painted this little freestyle, street side, illegally. No static from anyone, hiding in plain sight.

Ewok, 1997
San Diego

This was @ewokmskhm first trip to the West Coast to paint with the crew and they came down for a field trip to this yard in San Diego.

Painted in the same yard as that Revok piece which was just to the left of it. I think Kept painted to his right, and I know Just, Booh and myself painted, but there were others.

Bles and Booh, AWR, 1997

In 97, a whole bunch of us rocked this wall in San diego with this underwater theme. Booh not only did a piece, but he threw in a bunch of his strange deep sea characters. @jason_kundell_awr painted this burner… nearly 30 years ago.

Saber
San Francisco, 1997

Remember that one time when certain members of AWR/MSK decided to go on an extended stay in the Bay Area? Legendary times in the history of West Coast graffiti.

I was lucky enough to take a few trips up there and painted both in Oakland and San Francisco throughout the 90’s.
