💭 tired eyes squinting as I smile at the first light of day and sound of early morning birdsong.
don’t forget to take in every moment of peace that you can amidst the mental business of it all.
speaking gratitudes, seeking stillness.
outer and internal autumn cusps on the horizon. morning air is dampening and the sun no longer greets me at the call of my 5am alarm.
thankful for the work I’ve had these past few years for helping me attune to the change of seasons.
lots of change and growing pains!! and
one long, exhaling sigh of relief and release.

Some memories of autumn so far.

I used to feel a lot resistance towards this time of year. I resisted the long periods of dark and dampness and the call to come back inside and into self, but this resistance only robbed me of my chance to deepen the relationship I have •to• self. every discomfort avoided is a connection opportunity missed.
I invite myself to be welcoming and supportive, a friend to my sticky, complicated, beautiful humanness. To be honest with intentionality, to be strong and secure with patience and humility. I call this time of year my turbo hermit season, as a shy guy already I become even more so when autumn comes around. But it’s a welcomed reminder to hold myself lovingly in every moment of discomfort. To be patient, to make room. I am trying to be a better friend to myself during this season of coming back home within.
