Yesterday, we were honored by the presence of Mrs Oluwatooni Kareem.

She taught us how by faith, the prophets obtained a good report and how we can hold God by his word through our stewardship. It was a session of out pour of knowledge to us. We were truly blessed.

The assignment was simple. It's the same assignment that I give everyone that makes a dress for me: Simple and Stylish with the right amount of 'boujee' 👌🏾😌.

It's obvious that @dayem_couture understood the assignment.

It is also a fact that I bodied the dress!

The date was March 5, 2022.

I went to bed few minutes past 1am knowing that I had to be up before 4am to prepare for the auspicious event that was billed to happen that Saturday.

But, nothing prepared me for what was to come. NOTHING

I expected to be nervous or have cold feet.

I expected to have second thoughts, don't blame me, everyone I know said they did.

But, I didn't! That was how I knew that I was ready to completely handover my "mumu button" to a man and commit to living and doing life with him.

So, it's been a month since I got married to the man that I love. A month of navigating the esteemed estate of marriage.

Will I do it again? YES! ABSOLUTELY! I will say "I do" to this man over and over again. He is worth it!

I've been a wife for a month, y'all!! SURREAL! ABSOLUTELY CRAZY, BUT I LOVEEEETT!

Hello 2022 👀

I really thought last year would finally be the year that I start regular feed posts on IG sha 👀, but, to be fair, I've been active on stories. In fact, most times, I only come to IG to check stories and updates from my faves. 👀

Anyway, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it at some point!

Until then, this is your friendly reminder that "even if you are not ready for the day, it cannot always be night" or whatever that woman said 🤣🤗.

Keep Climbing by Gail MacDonald

Let me tell you why I love this book so much. My first read was in 2017. At the time, I was neck deep in bitterness and unforgiveness because I'd been hurt over and over again by someone who shouldn't do that. I constantly had mood swings. I was constantly unhappy, felt unloved, but didn't know how to say it.

So, I did what I knew to. I took the pain and wielded it. I used it to cut anything and anyone down. I was terrible. I hated people. I hated this person.

One day, my brother in law, who I used to rant to, gave me his old and frayed copy of this book. He promised that I'd find what I need in its pages. I took the book and from the first page, I knew that I'd struck something.

This book forced me to look at my hurt and pain. It forced me to recognize the pain, to resolve to forgive, to renounce my desire for revenge, to cover their errors, and to determine to rebuild myself.

When I tell you that I cried, I mean that I cried. In the end, I came out on the other side with the clarity that I needed to live a full and happy life, as well as the strength to keep climbing without the extra weights that easily beset.

2 months ago, I asked my sister to help me get the book. You see, it was first published in 1989 so it had gone out of circulation. Luckily, she found this pre-loved copy, it was the last one on Amazon. Hah! I finally have a personal copy to go back to every time I need a reminder. Anyway, Keep Climbing by Gail MacDonald will always be my favourite book. It is the best book that I've read this month.

Story story...
Once upon a time... 😂

If you responded appropriately, may you never lose your wonder. If you didn't, why you dey form?

Anyway, let me tell you the story of how I became a freelance writer and copywriter.

I worked as a content writer and editor for a Nigerian digital media company from 2017-2020. Within the first few month, I quickly moved up the rank to become an Editor. By the time I tendered my resignation, I was managing editor with a team of writers and editors working with me. Yeah, I was that good; ask @_ifeolutayo

By the end of 2019, I knew that I was going to leave the company because I was looking to take on new challenges. I tendered my resignation in January 2020 and left few days to my birthday. I remember thinking, wow, what audacity! But, I knew that I couldn't go back, I had to move on.

Then lockdown happened and, ladies and gentlemen, I was bored and Sapa wanted to hold my neck. One day, I was gisting with my friend @kizodaniels and he introduced me to the world of freelancing.

Okay, wait, I'd known about it before as I'd worked with freelance writers while at my former workplace. I just didn't think it was sustainable or enough to build a life on. Kizo made me understand that it's a big deal and it's enough, more than enough, to meet my needs and sustain a viable lifestyle. Seeing as Kizo and I left our jobs on the same day, I knew that I could trust his recommendation.

I started checking out platforms and seeking knowledge. By September, I'd started working with a client to produce product description articles. Few months later, it didn't look like it so I gave up on it. After much self-motivation I picked it up again.

And, ladies and gentlemen, here we are! I'm still a freelance copywriter with specialty in social copies, web copies, and blog copywriting.

Welcome. Ẹ káàbò.

I just realized that I've always been a stranger on here. One moment I'm active, the next, I'm gone for weeks and months. So, I thought now would be a good time to redeem that. Hopefully, I can stay active for days at a stretch. Let's see how that pans out.
