What an awesome experience🤯!! So memorable watching Rio and the entire Aussie team light it up in El Salvador at the ISA World Junior Championships🌎 💚💛 56 Countries 455 athletes and so professionally run. Watching Rio move through 7 heats in such an intense atmosphere and make the podium with a bronze medal 🥉 was amazing and then the Aussie team taking out Gold was the icing on the cake🏆🥇 It took a massive effort from the athletes, the crew and coaches and even all us parents to support the whole process. Stoked we were able to fly my mom down and she got to be a part of it all ❤️❤️ thanks to everyone, at every level, for making it happen 💕 @riolutherbarr so inspired by your work ethic & dedication to the dream. Wow! Such an amazing couple of weeks for my boy. Seeing the hours, dedication & heart he put into his knee rehab over the last months was awe inspiring to say the least. Talk about laser focus⚡️! And so heartwarming to see him back in full swing doing his thing and thriving. Seeing him take the win at one of the biggest grom comps on the calendar, the Skullcandy Oz Grom Open brought tears to my eyes. Rio shredded his way to a 3rd place finish in the @billabongozgromcup which is a seriously stacked 5 day comp run on the Coffs coast every year. We didn’t think he’d even be able to compete as he got two compression fractures in his knee the week before, poor lil’ bugga . He is so passionately determined and somehow we got an mri, results and an appt with the orthopaedic dr all in 3 days! He got the green light to surf his heats the day before the comp started! Such a trooper and even in pain he surfed so well and had the best time hanging with so many surf mates from all over Oz. Epic comp, epic result and the best attitude. Little legend.
