A weeeeee bit late on this trend, but what’s new? 😉 Better late than never!

Looking back through my collection of logos, it was HARD to choose—not because there are so many, but because they all mean so much to me. Each one has its own story, client, season, and memory attached to it.

Pretty dang cool to look back and see them all together. What a blessing!

I don’t think I’ve ever done an introduction post so…

HOWDY 👋🏻 I’m Pax and the fuzzy guy is Ozzy. I am the owner of PAX STUDIO which is an award winning boutique graphic design studio in North Carolina. We specialize in Logo + Visual Identity Design.

A couple facts about me:
_ My favorite color is black
_ I enjoy long walks through antique stores
_ I’m a professional procrastinator (some may say that is not a positive quality, but @jessicahische says otherwise)
_ As cheesy as it sounds graphic design is my passion, it’s my favorite thing to do and I’m blessed to have been able to make it my full time career by @_paxstudio

You might be wondering why I’ve been posting vague pictures of construction over the past few months and well I’m finally ready to share the news…

PAX STUDIO has a new home! Something I never thought I would say but here I am...As of last week I moved out of the building I began my business in almost 5 years ago into my renovated garage. This has been a bittersweet move but I have trusted this plan God gave me to downsize and focus more on what’s truly important for my business.

I loved my time in Downtown Thomasville but thankfully this year taught me that business is not defined by a location, but by my love for creating and working with the best clients. I am looking forward to this new chapter 🤍✨

To answer some questions:

💬 What are your plans to do with the building?
I will be selling it!

💬 Will you still offer internships?
HELL YES. However due to our smaller space I limit the number of interns. You may apply in bio.

💬 Are you taking new projects?
YES! Always. Send me an email. by @_paxstudio

As designers, we tend to have projects that are driven by nothing more than pure passion. Sometimes those projects never see the light of day, and sometimes they turn into another source of income. Mine? Somewhere in between.

I established my design studio in my hometown of Thomasville, NC. I could’ve gone anywhere after college, but I chose to stay where it all started. I had so much love and admiration for the area I grew up in, and I wanted a way to show it. That’s how Taylor’d Threads was born. (@_taylordthreads)

This era of my career was SO much fun. From creative photoshoots with my interns to setting up at big events, everything was created around the idea of having a “local state of mind” — something I felt like smaller towns sometimes struggled to have.

For almost four years, I designed T-shirts, stickers, hats, posters, and even earrings, all for the love of North Carolina and my hometown.

While digging through my files to make this post, I realized I haven’t touched any of this work since 2023... almost as much time as I actually spent doing it. And looking back at a season of my life that I was so proud of makes me wonder why I ever stopped. (I could list a few rea$ons 🤪)

But I think the point of sharing all of this is to say: don’t be afraid to take the risk on something that genuinely excites you, even if there’s no promise that it will last forever. Client work will come and go. There will be days when you’re creatively drained. But having something you created simply because you loved it can remind you why you chose this career in the first place.

Taylor’d Threads may have only been one season of mine, but man, it was a good one. And who knows... maybe it’ll make a comeback one day. Until then, it will forever live on my to-do list!

Pulling this one out of the archives!

I created this visual identity for Davidson County Public Library back in 2019, not long after I opened PAX STUDIO. This was one of my first BIG projects and looking back at it now just makes me proud.

I remember getting to present these concepts to the county and then letting them vote on which one would become the final mark. I was SO nervous 😂 but man, what a cool experience that was, especially so early on in my studio.

Taking a note from the awesome @allanpeters and the polls he does with his work, I thought it would be fun to bring these back and let y’all vote too.

So… which one are you picking?

I am TERRIBLE at posting on here. I would say I’m going to do better, but I feel like I’ve said that before. So hey, here’s to trying!

I’ve been meaning to share these for a while now, but honestly I never really know how to post about things like this. It always feels a little weird talking about myself. 🤪

For the last few years, I’ve had the privilege of having my work selected for the LogoLounge books by @bill.gardner.design, which has been incredibly cool in itself. But recently I found out that Bill also chose some of my work for his newest book, The LogoLounge Guide to Iconic Branding. I didn’t submit anything for this one, so finding out that he had personally selected my work to include was a pretty surreal moment.

AND I can’t forget Mastering Type by @denisebosler. The fact that something I designed is basically in a textbook is still crazy to me. 🤯

There’s just something really cool about seeing something you made printed in an actual book, and I don’t think that’ll ever get old.

More than anything, I’m thankful that I still get to wake up and do what I love for a living. I thank God for all of it. Truly. I don’t ever want to take any of this for granted.

So maybe I’ll actually try to do better about sharing my work on here. I’ve got a few things up my sleeve that I’m finally ready (and really excited) to share! by @_paxstudio

I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many different industries over the years, but this one was definitely a first… I got to design a logo for new school bus line! 🤘🏻

Meet WATTSON, the latest electric school bus from @thomasbuiltbuses.

For the logo, we explored a few different directions but ultimately landed on something simple, bold and memorable.

I love how this job keeps me on my toes. I truly never know what may come across my desk next.

It always starts with a sketch.

Still one of my favorite projects to date! @injectorkailee_np has absolutely killed it with her vision for @nuvo.skin and everything she’s done with it since we wrapped up the logo. So cool to see how much it’s grown!

Really excited to share this one ✨

I had the chance to create the visual identity for The Table at @mtzionwesleyan, a Christ-centered community created for people walking through wounds, addiction, and some of life’s harder seasons.

The heart behind it is simple: no matter your story, there’s a seat for you at the table.

I wanted the identity to feel welcoming, honest, and grounded without overcomplicating the message.
So grateful I got to be a small part of bringing this to life. 🤍

✨ God is good! ✨
I’m so excited to announce that two of my logos will be featured in @logolounge Book 15!

The first is extra special to me, a logo for PrimoTile, a brand within my dad’s company. He’s always supported my talents, so it’s amazing that one of the many logos we’ve created together will be seen by designers around the world.

The second is an unused concept for Bessemer City. This icon was originally proposed as an option, and while it wasn’t chosen, I upload all of my work to LogoLounge. It’s so cool to see a design that didn’t make the final cut get its own spotlight here.

This is my third time being published in the series, with a total of nine logos recognized so far. Forever grateful to keep creating and sharing my passion for design!
