WE DID IT. 1,000 backpacks! 🎒

Thanks to this incredible community, Fraternos Charity Group hit our goal of 1,000 backpacks this year. 900 are staying right here to support local families, and 100 are heading to Mexico to reach kids there too.

Next week, Wednesday, August 26th, we’re partnering with Charter Academy for their Back-to-School event. Come through if you’re a Walton Charter Academy family! The remaining backpacks will go out to other schools across Oakland County.

This is what community looks like. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and believed in this mission. 🙏

I grew up in Pontiac. This is personal. 🎒

2 years ago we started with 300 backpacks. Last year, over 1,300. This school year, we’re delivering thousand of backpacks straight to Pontiac schools, right into the hands of students who need them.

I’m serving on deployment🪖, but my team back home is making every delivery happen.

$8 = 1 fully stocked backpack for one student.

That’s it. Eight dollars puts a kid at their desk ready for day one.

The Giveback 2025.
Through the Fraternos Charity, we raised enough to give 1,300 backpacks and every single one has now been given to a student in need.

The Giveback 2024. This project was something I have been working on for four months. This project kept me up at nights wondering if I could hold my promise to 300 students. This project taught me what it was to value what you have. This project taught me what it was to help. This project was something I did not know I could pull off.

It was only a thought in November of 2023. I wanted to help but was too scared to at the beginning, so I crushed the thought of helping with my own fear. And I prayed one day and said “God please give me the answer if I should follow through with this idea.” And a week later I happen to detail a car of an amazing individual. I was seconds away from just getting in my work van and driving away. But something told me “Ask her.” So I said “Hey what do you think about this idea of helping students with backpacks and where can I get help.” The lady then said “Come inside let’s talk.” All I needed to hear were two words “Do it” and she said those exact words. She gave me great ideas on how to seek help and where to get donations.

As soon as I left her home my mind began the race. First thing I did was thank God for answering my prayer. Afterwards my mind began to think and think and think. I went to sleep many if not all nights of this summer thinking of this event. I woke up thinking about it, I went to the gym thinking about it, I talked about it, and I asked others about it. Then I posted my first post seeking help on April 15. Just minutes after I posted the post I had a 7-minute speech about persuasion due in class. I decided I would try and persuade my classmates to help me because I thought there was no better way to start this off but by getting comfortable talking about it.
As days grew closer my mind was running even faster than what it was running before. It felt like I was living in a world of chaos and trying to organize the chaos alone. It felt as if I was trapped in this chaos, it felt as if I was the last person alive in the endgame.
