🤣 If this ain’t the life of a woman in this sport… I don’t know what is 🤣😭
I am NOT here for the hugs!!!
But jokes aside, this is a real part of being in a male dominated sport. Even though women are growing in boxing, there still aren’t nearly enough of us.
To any woman thinking about getting into a combat sport:
Trust your instincts. Always.
Don’t let anyone tell you you’re “too much,” dramatic, or asking for too much. You’re not.
There are people who will take advantage. Which is why it’s so important to speak up and surround yourself with people you genuinely trust. If you’re unsure, bring someone from outside the gym with you until you feel safe and confident in your environment.
One of the first things I look for in a coach is whether I’ve seen them work respectfully with women before.
I can’t wait for the day we don’t have to think about this. When women are everywhere in this sport: coaches, managers, broadcasters, all of it.
Until then, we keep pushing, stay true to ourselves, and never let anyone make us feel small. 🥊✨ (the irony of this being an R. Kelly song too 🤦🏽‍♀️) #BPfunnyFridays #womeninboxing by @_peggy

Voiceover by: @theamazingrodfit 😂!

I love the community that Quality Work Boxing has given me! So many people in this gym continue to inspire me, push me, and keep me disciplined. It may be the hardest part of my day, but it’s also the part I look forward to the most! 👊🏽❤️

Hopefully, I’ll have some fight news for you all soon! But regardless, just know I’m still in the gym, showing up and perfecting my craft. 🥊🩸🐆 by @_peggy
