Surgery day! July 2nd, 2026.

About a year ago hip started REALLY buggin. After trying rest, massage, PT, I finally went in and got an X-Ray, which revealed a total lack of cartilage in my left hip. We worked on it for a few weeks, because I still wanted to dance my spring shows… but ultimately decided that a total hip replacement was inevitable, and figured we should get it done sooner rather than later.

The FIRST thing that every doctor asked me is “do you have someone who can take care of you 24/7 for the first week of recovery?” And I am beyond beyond grateful that I was able to immediately think of my husband @gloryjoel.official and after quickly checking schedules, respond ‘yes.’

I’ve never had any major surgery like this done to me. I’ve never even had braces or a tattoo- so this was a big leap in a lot of ways, but ultimately I’m so glad I mustered the courage to get it done.

Huge thanks for modern medicine, my healthcare team of nurses and doctors, and support from some amazing friends and family! 🦿❤️‍🩹 taken in Swedish Orthopedic Institute by @_phenometom_

HAD to share this mome from a Bridgerton party I got the chance to perform at with MDV! I’ve never seen the show, so Joel and I watched the first episode while we got ready at home (to practice the accents too, because mine kept comin out too cockney, eh guvna??? 😂). I got told that I was playing the gossipy Brimsley character…! Which I LOVED, because I just whispered hot goss into the Queen’s ear all. night. 🗣️ 👂 👸🏾 … but then I saw the character Brimsley and he ugly af so that’s kinda whack. 😑 😜LOVE the opportunity to do this with my partner and friends here in Seattle. Cheers to more shmancy Tomfoolery in 2025.
