Chasing the last beautiful days of autumn, soaking in the incredible colours of the season with perfect conditions to tick off the Gélas, one of the Mercantour’s most iconic 3000 metre peaks. Golden landscapes, still that special atmosphere up there, mountains looking more beautiful than ever.

A week ago, I was making my way home after an incredible solo journey across the Massif Central, riding the GTMC Gravel.

The insane landscapes, the effort, the unexpected moments, the people along the way and all those little things that make my journey so much more than just a line on a map.

One particular moment will stay in my memory. On the tenth day, I reached a summit and caught my first glimpse of the Mediterranean in days. At first, I thought I was seeing a mirage but there it was, way out in the distance, I stopped for a moment, taking it all in. After days of riding through the heart of these breathtaking mountains, seeing the sea felt like so much more than simply reaching the end of a route.

When you zoom out on the map of France, you suddenly realize just how far you’ve come.

More than 1400 kms of gravel, countless climbs and 10 days of discovering, adapting and pushing my limits.

Here’s a few pages from my travel diary.

Recently, I joined my parents, who are on a mission on @hexatrek

The Hexatrek is a thru-hike that crosses the whole country, passing through all its iconic landscapes and high-altitude regions. Two months ago, they left the German border and have been crossing France on foot ever since, making their way from one range mountain to another. I spent a few days hiking with them through the Écrins, a wild and spectacular place where the trails are steep, the peaks are rugged and flat terrain is clearly nonexistent.

But what makes this adventure really special are the people we meet along the way.

Day after day, we quickly find the same guys, we share a few kilometers, a lunch break, a view, a laugh or just a few kind words before continuing. After only a few days, complete strangers become familiar faces.

There is something beautiful about this community: no matter where everyone comes from, how old they are or how fast they walk, there is always kindness, encouragement and sincere respect.

What a privilege it was to share all these simple but precious moments with my parents on this path that is becoming mythical, to be able to give them a little more energy and positive vibes when they needed it.

Feeling so lucky to have experienced @letourfemmes from the roadside, cheering on these incredible women through the tropical heat.

There was something so special about seeing these familiar roads come alive with so much people, energy and excitement!

The madness of Alpe d’Huez, the silence of Galibier.

Two of cycling’s most iconic climbs. Two completely different atmospheres, both truly legendary.

Thank you @letourdefrance for the goosebumps and for creating these unique memories.

Stages 19 & 20 on film.

The best way to add some fun to your commute?

Take a detour to climb Mont Chauve and squeeze in a little extra elevation before heading home.

@wish_one_gravel_race in the books!

Breathtaking scenery, charming villages, the Tarn River winding through the valley below and endless gravel roads stretching across the stunning Causses uplands, definitely a truly spectacular playground for any cyclist.

The race didn’t go exactly as planned or deliver the result I was aiming for but that’s the nature of gravel: unpredictable, demanding and full of surprises. On the bright side, I can now say I’ve mastered the art of riding without a saddle for a few kilometers!

A huge thanks to this crazy crew for the incredible atmosphere and all the great moments shared throughout the weekend!
