I’ve got a little less than 6-months left before my life is expected to come to an end, but my approach is to focus on the positive. I do this by talking to G and the girls all the time. I’m going to make it to be the 1-2% that survives this type of c*ncer.

Putting that work in everyday to get back to where I was pre-diagnosis.

As someone who didn’t utilize PT unless I was injured while training…let me tell you that PT now kicks my a** 😅

Things that that I never even used to think about (walking stairs, walking backwards, jumping, etc) now take so much concentration just to balance and orient myself with diminished vision and sensation on my right side.

I’m working towards progress over perfection…but anyone who knows me knows that I’m secretly hoping for perfection 😅

@nycmarathon HERE I COME ✴️

Found out this week that I got selected in the lottery to run the NYC marathon this year. @instakramyo & @nerdy.x.nature will be my running aides since I still can’t see out of my right visual fields, and have diminished feeling on the right side of my body…BUT I’M CROSSING THAT FINISH LINE. 🏁

Hoping that @girly_gonz @adriel.john @moxtian @pax.ie @suegoldman4 can all run with me too in November ☺️

Stay tuned for how I’ll be training for this marathon and updates on my next MRI in a couple weeks 🙏🏽

Let the marathon training begin. Hardest thing about running right now is not being able to feel my right foot, so I can’t tell when my toe catches. Everyday I’m getting stronger though!

My actual thoughts when the doctor is telling me about my results or talking about treatment options.

Don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t go to appointments with my wife @girly_gonz who has a medical background, cause I’ll be honest…medical talk sounds like a different language to me.

I’m definitely guilty of saying some of these things to others in the past…

But now that I’m on the receiving end of these sentiments, let me tell you that they make me feel like CRAP 😫

I realize it’s hard to figure out what to say sometimes, so try some of these sentiments next time:
💬 I can’t imagine what you’re going through. I’m always here to talk if you want to.
💬 If you ever need me, I’m happy to sit with you, even in silence.
💬 I’ve been thinking of you often and would love to support you in whatever way you need.
