My first single in 2 years !
This song is about honouring yourself
I have been trying to decipher what these words mean since I wrote them 3 years ago
And for a long time I thought it was about rebirth but now I think it’s more of a homecoming
Finding power in your stillness
Learning how to hold it
how to yield it
You do not have to give yourself away to people to be loved
your life
and your wealth
comes from you

Friday 20th marks the start of a new chapter in my artistry

I start with a simple meditation on being
A point of self reflection and change
Choosing a different path for myself
Removing the mirrors that refuse to see me
Rejecting the lies that this country has tried to feed me about my blackness
Creating my own limitations, references and points of acceptability

This project is not an exploration of blackness
But my blackness is the tie that binds
And I am nothing without her
And everything that I am, she also is

I feel like it has taken me my whole
Life to get here
Until I realised
I just had to say yes by @_raelleeee
