The Spider-man 2 Hot Dog Scene [Recreated]

Thanks to my mom for being behind the camera like always!
Even with our tight schedule, my cousins made my day by taking me to some of the iconic places from the og sam raimi spider-man movies; the movies that made my childhood so special. Getting to actually stand in those places and recreate a few of those scenes was pretty damn special.

Based on a true story.
I introduced my brother to 4Fun when he first came to Canada, so it was almost funny when, a year after it disappeared from shelves, he was the one who texted me that it was back.

‘Have Fun’ — a one minute short.

Thank you to Arjun for riding along with me on this one.

‘Before Next Week’ is a 3-minute pocket film about timing, avoidance, and what we leave unsaid.

This film was conceived, written, and shot on the spot as part of a filmmaking activity with the MMM Film Club.

Hamilton House at TIFF - my first time volunteering in this space, and genuinely such a meaningful experience.
Pic credit @donnawaxmanphotography ❤️

Getting the call from Ann Pirvu, and later getting to actually talk with her at the event, was one of the highlights for me. She has this vibrant, contagious energy, the kind you don’t come across that often, and I feel lucky to have been part of something connected to her and the Hamilton Film Board.

Even in brief conversations throughout the day, there was something to take away from each person I talked to. New experience, new connections, and I’m genuinely looking forward to more of this.

Thank you to the whole team for having me.

The decision was between Splish Splash Water Park or Six Flags Great Adventure and we’re glad we picked the latter during our short trip :) taken in Six Flags Great Adventure by @_rejoe

Where Uncle Ben Dropped Peter Off - Spider-man (2002)

This was actually the first spot we hit on our little Spider-Man scene-hunt.
Me and my mom had to shoot this one a few times to get it right. People kept walking through mid-take, which was still worthwhile and fun - to stand there, in the actual spot, hit different.

I generally don’t go around advertising it. It kinda defeats the whole anonymous superhero thing. by @_rejoe

I went back to the place that built my foundation.

It wasn’t just a simple visit to the school that raised me. I wanted to be surrounded by the walls and classrooms of a time that shaped my core.

To my surprise, Humaira Ma’am, Liza, and the other teachers welcomed Amma and me, walking with us through memory lane and reminiscing about those early days.

I found myself asking how the colours used to be brighter and fuller. Our 1B1 class (2007) is now a medical room.

I remembered how Faisal once sobbed because he had nothing to eat during lunch break, and how Rifat, seeing him cry, couldn’t hold back his own tears and offered him his food.

I thought of Rabbah from nursery and prep, Faisal my best friend, Rene my childhood sweetheart and many others who were part of the first chapters of my life.

None of this would have happened without Amma- from making this visit possible to quietly capturing every moment along the way.

For a long time, this was one of the rare places where I could simply exist without my mind running ahead of me. taken in Dps School (Al Falah International School) by @_rejoe

Watched Mollywood Times fdfs with my family, and right after the credits rolled, my dear cousin told me not to lose hope or give up on what I want to achieve. One of the sweetest comments I’ve received from a loved one.

Interestingly, I felt the opposite of what he expected. Instead of feeling discouraged, I walked out heavily motivated and reminded of why this dream matters so much to me on a personal level.

I think this is the kind of film that might inspire each filmmaker and perhaps each individual in a different way.

Will definitely be giving it another watch in theatres. 🥂
