Us three against the world 🕊️❤️🌊🌿⚓️

For possibly the first time ever I’m posting this in real time from today’s adventure. A short walk from our front door to the South West Coast Path not even a mile away 🌿🌊
.
We are so incredibly fortunate to have this paradise on our doorstep. It’s such a changeable landscape and October is the perfect autumnal time to walk it, see it and feel it 🍁🍂🍃
.
We have taken our time with Georgie who loves the outdoors but can also be nervous about new things. The hiking baby carrier was something I hoped for since she was still in Mamas tum tum. We finally got her out for a proper stretch today and I couldn’t be prouder to share not only the South West Coast Path with her but the home stretch here at home. My favourite place in the world ❤️🌊🍂

Inaccessible by road or pushchairs so it was a special moment and I’ve never been prouder of our daughter for loving it so much and so proud of our little family of 3. There reallly is no “how to” manual but days like today remind you we must be doing okay…even if Dad had a meltdown with the straps and buckles 🤷🏻‍♀️🫡😂🕊️🍃❤️

Come spend Sunday with us 🥞🌼⛵️

I guess we use Saturday to try and do whatever we want or need to do and Sundays we purposely slow down. A family breakfast, a nap, slow walks along the river, lunch in the park and a coffee as we walk to the swings for play time 🫶🏻

Afternoon naps are followed by errands and playtime before dinner and na night times ✨
Perfect Sundays ❤️

It never gets any easier 😅🥷🏻🚀🫡

How did you spend your Sunday morning? 🤷🏻‍♀️😅

I was 15 when I saw a gig listing of a new band called Oasis who were playing at Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms on May 2, 1994.

I had just bought 3 other gig tickets that week and that was my pocket money gone. Nobody knew much of this Oasis band and it wasn’t sold out even for a 400 capacity venue. “You can’t go to everything Rob” I told myself as I did the maths in my head and pondered asking Dad to loan me the ticket money 🎟️

New songs filtered through radio sessions and through free tapes on the covers of NME. Wow, this Oasis band is amazing. I saw a Glastonbury performance on live TV by June 1994 and was sold. These are my people. That is my fucking rock star. Oasis have arrived 🫡🚀✨

By late mid summer Live Forever was released and the rest of the country fell in love as I did. These weren’t just my band anymore, they were everybody’s. The band of the people ❤️

Kicking myself for never getting that first gig ticket to a venue of 400 people I made sure I was first in line for tickets at London Earls Court the next year. The excitement was palpable. The first time I saw them they were already playing to 20,000 people. Twice.

The next chance I got to see them barely 9 months later was to see them at Knebworth playing to 125,000 people. Twice.

It was still only 1996. In two years Oasis went from playing to less than 400 people on a rainy Monday in Portsmouth to selling out Knebworth and playing to 250,000 people. Apparently 4% of the UK, 2,500,000 people tried to get tickets for just two concerts.

To get my Knebworth ticket, my friends and I had been clubbing the night before they went on sale. But we were careful. We all promised not to drink too much because tickets were the dream 🙏🏻

We camped outside Portsmouth Guildhall from 330am until tickets were on sale at 9am. It was freezing. We got them. It was beautiful ❤️

It’s been a nightmare getting ticket’s ever since. It’s part of Oasis…getting a ticket. Absolutely the most stressful and worthwhile moments of my life. After that first ticket I fought for one ever since and never missed one. 2027 let’s go 🥷 taken in Etihad Stadium by @_rob.coulter_

Summer dreams with a sprinkling of moving house stresses punctuated with smiles, curry, laughter, aches, sweat, family and friends. It sure has been hot forever now – it’s literally a desert out there. I probably / possibly regret all I said in January about heat and blue skies. Coffee however is universal all year round so amen to that. Almost at the “Ber” months. Let’s just stay in those for like...hmmm ever ☕️🍃🌊

June Diary entry:

As you may see, I am no better at uploading but what can I say – is what it is and it is what..it..is 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hope you are all enjoying summer and the insane heatwaves scorching the earth. I swear I opened the fridge door for emotional support the other day. That and snacks. Shade is my new love language and the floor is lava game feels all too real these days but no doubt cooler climes and the inevitable 5 months of rain that arrives around November will see us through. PHEW. Muchos amoros to all of ye 🫡❤️✨

P.S. will try and upload July somewhere between August and December 🤌🏻🚀😬

Thank you for every smile you share with us - your laughter and smiles are the most beautiful thing I ever heard or saw in my entire life ✨❤️

Thank you for making me a Dada.

Thank you Laura for being the best Mama in the world. Georgie and I will never forget all the sacrifices you made and continue to make. We love you immeasurably. You make Georgie laugh and smile every single day and her growth and progress owes it all to you ❤️

Thank you Dad for being the best Dad in the world. I miss you. I miss you ridiculous amounts ⚓️❤️

I dread Father’s Day ever since Dad passed in my early 20s and I know there’s a lot of others who find it difficult. I did say I’d still rather sidestep it now and not make a fuss but I know Laura and Georgie want to celebrate it with me.

I thought back to when I used to spend my pocket money on Dad at Father’s Day. I’d get whatever I could for about £6. Which would usually mean some “Insignia” aftershave. If I could scrape £7 together we could be fancy and get “Rapport” instead. Lucky fella 😬😂🤷🏻‍♀️

For all those missing their Dad today who dread today like I have, I send you love. For those who didn’t have much of a father to celebrate, I send you hugs too ❤️

Meanwhile, I’ll give this another go and give Georgie a chance to buy her pops some Rapport cologne one day. Happy Father’s Day Dad and Happy Father’s Day to those celebrating and for those who find it tough, lots of love, think of the funny moments and happy memories if you can❤️
