Sorry, I forget who I heard that from many years ago. While so much attention tends to get focussed on the big move, especially in contests, I’ve always loved the above notion’s reminder and emphasis on the beauty of how lines of connection are drawn, the importance of the in-between moments that breath, feed and make things whole.

And that’s why I’m sharing this otherwise minor backhand redirectional downturn of Burch’s… It’s one of my favorite clips in UNREAL PLANING WITH BOARD TALK IN REAL TIME.

I’ve watched this downturn hundreds of times and its poetry in motion moves me just as deeply every time. So here it is on repeat plus a couple other backside waves of Ryan on his new @ryanburchsurfboards BELUGA MODEL that has what he refers to as the Double Agent bottom foiling: soft railed displacement hull in the front half of the board that quickly transitions to single concave with a tucked rail in the back half.

HIT the LINK in my BIO to WATCH BURCH CONNECTING THE DOTS… At the 12 minute mark begins a 10 min section that showcases his complete rides from start to finish on the 6’10” BELUGA (his 1st board with Double Agent bottom foil) and a 5’7” OG ASYM (his 2nd board with Double Agent foil). Also in that section are Eric Snortum’s complete rides on a 5’4” twin keel SQUIT FISH.
