2026 has been a long year and it all came off in length just before my birthday in January. The first three months felt like I was getting slapped in the face with a dead fish but apparently Snake 🐍 years are traditionally challenging for Pigs 🐽 like me.

Everything was feeling a little heavier than usual with the final shedding of Snake-year lessons, but instead of circling old wounds, life is certainly moving again. Although it’s already been 7 months, turning 30 felt like a bit of a car crash - with self loathing thoughts of not being further along, the realisation that responsibilities are here to stay, that life is long but it’s also short and that time isn’t just a bottomless glass of water.

London is a pretty brutal place, it’s cold and dark for six months of the year, there really aren’t enough hours in a day to make a meal from scratch every night, rent, transport and partying comes at an eye-watering premium, the dating scene is saturated and unforgiving, house-hunting and moving is a serious energy zapper and if you’re not a pacer it will swallow you whole and you’ll just never make it to that meeting.

But when the sun is shining like it is right now and I see people lying in the parks in their swimwear… I realise how many concerts, incredible restaurants, theatre shows and art exhibitions I’ve been to since moving over. I’ve studied, I’ve travelled, I’ve gone out dancing, I’ve made some incredible friends and there’s something that gives me kicks about turning into one of those people that’s always running up the escalator on the left.

I know there’s a bigger plan at play for the next decade including more lessons, personal development, forgiveness, self love, healthy boundaries, internal healing (perhaps teaching myself how to ride a bicycle?). It is because of the people in my life, that have shown me so much love that make the now a really great time to be alive. And through sadness and doubt, the only thing stronger than anger, is love.

Here’s a very belated cheers to arriving at the third floor and continuing to love life with my whole entire heart xx huge thanks to the folks that make it all worth it. taken in London, United Kingdom by @_sarahsin_

On the 17th of May, my aunt passed away very suddenly… it’s all been feeling quite surreal, having received the news so far from home.

I’m so glad that I was able to make it back in time to pay tribute to her life yesterday. With over 200 people in attendance - albeit the service holding great sadness - the day itself brought a lot of warmth and joy, knowing how incredibly loved she was and how many brilliant friends she had.

Gaye, I’ll never forget the French braids you’d weave for me when I was little - I’d wince at how hard you’d pull, but knew that only your plaits would stay in tact for days. I’ll remember that road trip we took to the Midlands to get me to a dance, before being pulled up for maxing 200 on the freeway - you were driving.

I’ll remember your warmth, the strength of your hugs, your unwavering kindness, your generosity. And whilst I shared a few of our stories during your service yesterday and others are mentioned in this message, most of the memories will be carried in my heart.

Your absence at all the meals ahead of us will forever remain a void, but how lucky that we were able to share so many together before you went. With your passing, I think I’m finally able to chalk up that time you cut half my head of hair into a fringe… feels like an appropriate time to let bygones be bygones (she cries)!

I’m sorry that we didn’t have more time together, that I never responded to your Instagram messages more frequently, that I didn’t laugh at your jokes that much and that I didn’t tell you how much I loved you - or at least, not nearly as much as you deserved. You’ve left behind so many broken hearts, may they mend in time with celebrations of your life and the joy of memories with you in them.

There’s been a lot of comfort dressing this year, I’ve likely spent more days in a tracksuit than not (study life). Here’s a few outfit snaps from days in between, swipe to slide 20 for the most stylish one yet! 💅🏼 #sliving by @_sarahsin_

This past year has been one of the most challenging to date, moving to a new country and completing an MBA is no easy feat! This post is dedicated to the LCF cohort of ‘25 - studying with people from all over the world (in one of the most unforgiving metropolitan cities) has been the biggest privilege I’ve ever had. Despite the sleepless nights, extension applications, concentration pills and flailing mental health - I feel truly accomplished and I wouldn’t change it for a thing.

I can’t wait to see where we all end up in life, see you guys at graduation 👩🏻‍🎓 taken in London, United Kingdom by @_sarahsin_

My posts have been v low this 2025, but mostly because I’ve been in between mental breakdowns and getting high on life! A couple snaps of good times with the wine fam, thanks for tying me over to grad visa affordability as well as hydrating me with small batch, low intervention libations all year long. Happy birthday Kelly-Ka-Choo 🦄 you are a rock for so many - always coming up with the best ideas and execution strategies.

You’ve helped me patch my life up more times than I can count - making sure I have a budget sheet, that I’m spending the right amount on pillows and a duvet, and never without a safe place to go.

You are home to me, for so many different reasons. I love you Belly x

So many undocumented memories from these past few months! This was in Canada, celebrating my gran’s 90th birthday 🎂 many of us flew from all over the world to make this reunion happen. I met aunts, uncles and cousins I didn’t even know I had. You’ll never meet a bigger, more generous family than mine x taken in Canada, Toronto by @_sarahsin_

Happy birthday big sister Kelly🎈what a day to celebrate! You’ve achieved so much this past year, not only do you continue girl bossing your career, but you remain steadfast in being a source of strength and stability for so many. You’re the most hands on mama, constantly stimulating our baby bunny with endless patience and care. Feel like I haven’t said it enough recently, but I love you lots.
