~Rotten~

That orange has been sitting on my desk for days now.
It’s got a black spot on it and I’m watching as oxygen sucks the life from it…
It’s a slow death.
And the peel is the last to go, you can’t see it but I know the inside has been rotting much longer than I thought.
The inside that was so sweet has turned sour,
It makes my stomach turn, it makes me sick.
And in ways I feel like that orange.
Forgotten and long past its due date, a peel with a spot I’ve tried to cover up.
Though it’s easy to catch a glimpse of, and if you hold me you’ll feel it… the soft spots the rotten parts and I’m not proud of that.
And don’t take a bite I’ll warn you it’s not what it looks like.
It’ll get you high, and you’ll take the rest from me because you simply can’t resist the shiny peel.
Maybe I’m uncomfortable with vulnerability.
Maybe I’m uncomfortable with the fact that I am real. by @_scott_lyn_
