👨🏽‍🎓

on May 16th, I graduated from Morgan State University. it’s been quite the journey here at 1700 E Cold Spring Ln. I came here for an education and ended up co founding and building an influential student ran media team, while finding a passion and career I never knew was possible. I didn’t have the “usual” college experience. while there were still some normal elements, my story had different chapters, 5 to be exact. from an athletic department internship to opportunities people my age don’t usually get, every moment helped shape me into who I am today. I’m forever grateful for all of the people I’ve met along the way, and to everyone who supported and invested in me and my craft. to the creatives, man, I don’t know what I’d do or who I would be without all of you who helped build us into what we became. there were a lot of days, moments, and stretches of time where I didn’t want to continue. but remembering why I started is what kept me going. to Morgan State, thank you for allowing me to grow into the individual I am today. I’m forever grateful for the time I spent at 1700 E Cold Spring Ln and for The Marching Bear iykyk.

what a year… the beautiful thing about a year is no matter how it starts you can finish stronger than you started. I did not have a good start to this year, but the way I responded is what I am most proud of. when things get hard you can either run away or turn around and face it. I had many opportunities to expand my craft and network, learned how to teach more effectively as my time at @msucreatives is coming to an end.

the way how the kids approach and attack every challenge, idea, opportunity is what keeps me going, they are why I show up. its bigger than me.

this was a year of change, of difference. staff leaving, new staff coming in, key student workers graduating and moving on to bigger and better. shiiii, I fully switched over to @davinciresolvestudios but staying true to myself, my mission, and the “why” is what keeps me moving forward.

this year i contributed millions of views to @morganstatebears. for @msubearsfb specifically helped generate 5 million views from fall camp to senior night. I also was nominated for @hbcupass first ever HBCU Creators Award for Storyteller & Videographer of the year as well as the Creative Pioneer Award.

for those who support, push me, and even the people out there who doubt or challenge me. i thank you. thank you for showing me whats truly possible. thank you for allowing me to be me. thank you for allowing me to grow.

til next year!

“Just keep stacking days; everything you want is on the other side of hard.”

Another year shooting for @morganstatebears in the books! I’ve learned so much—not only about navigating this industry but also about myself. It’s been a year of trying new things, taking on new projects, having character building days, and pushing myself to be the best creative I can be.

I want to thank my team, @msucreatives , for giving me the opportunity to continuously overcome challenges, trailblaze in the HBCU media space, and grow into the leader and creative I strive to be. Thank you for showing up every day, ready to work and improve—proving exactly why #BEARSBETTER.

We’re heading into a season of change. New directors will step in as others graduate. It can be scary, but change is necessary for growth and the continued evolution of what we’ve built here. We’ve done it before—what’s one more time?

‘Til the fall,

“if its easy, leave it to somebody else”

this year has been nothing but good to me. I had many opportunities to grow my craft and expand my network. 2024 taught me a lot of lessons, but most importantly it taught be if what I do was easy, any and everyone could do it. I did a lot of big things in 2024, but I’m only just getting started!

see you in 2025!
