What is a SET? 🎬

A Set is what we call our presentations at Set In Motion! It can be a pitch, read-through, performance, or a read-through + performance.

It’s your chance to put your work in front of fellow creatives, test out ideas and get constructive feedback from peers in the industry.

From Pitch to Screen 🎬

Ethan Finch’s SLEEP started as a concept pitched at Set In Motion, and now it’s about to begin its festival run.

From the initial pitch and read-through to finding key crew members within the community, Set In Motion helped bring SLEEP from an idea on the page to a finished film.

This is exactly why we created Set In Motion. To connect creatives, workshop ideas and help turn projects into something real. by @_setinmotion

🎬 HOW A SET IN MOTION SESSION WORKS

6:00PM → 30 mins of networking
Come in, grab a tea, meet some new faces and connect.

6:30PM → Introductions 👋
Everyone goes around, introduces themselves, and shares what they do. So even if you didn’t get the chance to chat to everyone, you’ll know who’s who!

Then… we get into our 3 sets 🎥

Each set gets:
⏱️ 20 mins to present
💬 20 mins of feedback + discussion

Plenty of time to ask questions, get feedback and really dig into each project.

9:00PM → We wrap! by @_setinmotion

What an incredible night. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Pitch Night, shared their concepts and everyone who contributed such valuable feedback. The support and generosity in this community is something really special, and we’re so grateful to be building it together.

If you haven’t had a chance yet, the feedback forms will remain open until the end of today. Taking a few minutes to complete them will give each presenter valuable insights before they pitch to Screen Australia or apply for other funding opportunities.

The link below includes:
✨ All of the feedback forms for every pitch
📄 A PDF containing all of the pitch documents if you need a refresher before leaving your feedback

Your feedback could make a real difference to these projects, so thank you again for taking the time to support our filmmakers.
