This year started with this project, and it will end with it — Woza 🎀🇿🇦

I’m endlessly grateful for the opportunity to create this piece for @efektdancebrno and work with so many amazing talents 🙏

Thank you to my crew for all the dedication over the whole year. I’m proud of each and every one of you 🤍

For several years now, I’ve been deeply in love with Amapiano music and dance. I created this work because I wanted to introduce more South African styles to the Czech street dance scene. I truly poured my heart into this project, connecting the knowledge I’ve gained over the years with my creativity and my own perspective on this style.

I’m not claiming to be a master of Amapiano — I will always remain a student, learning from and honoring all the creators who shaped it. Still, I’m grateful that through sharing this journey, I was able to build a community in Brno, Czechia: dancers who love African styles as much as I do. A community with whom I can travel to events, educate ourselves, share our passion, organize events in Czechia, and invite masterminds from the African motherland.

I believe there’s never a moment when you are “enough.” There is always space to grow, both mentally and physically. I’m not trying to say that I own this style — I simply want to share this piece, because me & my team worked incredibly hard to create it.

Big respect to all South African creators who developed these powerful movements that I had the honor to work with.

We started preparing for this project back in January, filmed it in June, and now it’s finally out!

I’ve been teaching some of them since they were kids, and watching them grow into the dancers they are today has been such a journey. Most of them are now teachers themselves and I feel now is the time to let them go. ❤️

Ma gang 🔫

For the last half of the year my juniors and I have been working on this project, which we finally shot back in June with the amazing @meit_films

The idea behind this project was to challenge my students and give them space to explore their creativity. All of the choreographies were created by them. 💪

And I really think they did an amazing job. I’m so proud of them and of how much they’re growing into strong & confident dancers. ❤️

This video just popped up in my gallery memories 👀
Can’t believe it’s already been a year since last year’s Red Bull Dance Your Style Czech Republic Finals 🇨🇿 @redbullcz

I know I already posted this round, but I found this different angle captured by @meit_films and I really love the closeup and all the emotions in it.

I can see so many mistakes (especially that Pantsula timing 🙈😭). I remember being so angry with myself after this round because I’m such a perfectionist.

But I’m slowly learning (slooowly 🤣) to see mistakes as part of the process. Not something to be angry about but something to learn from.

A little reminder that we don’t always have to be perfect (and I think we will never be) to appreciate how far we’ve come.
