Paid a visit to a new basin this weekend to find a subset of Great Basin Redband trout which I had yet to encounter. Across three creeks we found plenty of them, including a fish of substance in water I could stretch across! These fish sure have some magnificent colors by @_shredit_

Bull trout are ESA listed as “threatened” throughout their range in the U.S. Many places they can’t be targeted, including where I fished in this video. Alas, I’m not going to complain when I accidentally stumble upon one! #bulltrout #barbless by @_shredit_

The love I have for Oregon’s native fish is unmatched. Today was a product of years of hard work that finally paid off. I have never felt a rush like I did today and I’m ever thankful to have had the opportunity to shake fins with this beautiful fish!

The garden is waking up! Brunnera, Euphorbia, Daffodils, and Daphne are all in bloom. The moss is glowing, the Chief Joseph Pine is making its seasonal color transition, and the perennials are putting out their first leaves of the year. It is so fun to watch the garden change throughout the year and continue to fill in. Making dreams come true with @jade.warner !! by @_shredit_

Fall on the Oregon Coast can be mighty unpredictable. What was originally forecasted as a weekend of prime river conditions turned bad in a hurry. Hammering wind and rain blew the rivers out in the form of an atmospheric river. Alas, flexibility and adaptability are important traits for anglers. We headed south and got into some dime bright fish. Complaints = none!

These photos and videos were all taken in beautiful places that will be under threat of privatization should the Senate Reconciliation Bill pass. Public land should absolutely remain public and accessible to all. The American West boasts so many incredible, diverse, and ecologically important landscapes, that if protected, can be enjoyed for generations. Unfortunately that could all be gone in a flash.
