Creative experiment of the day: sculpting.
Right now, y’all, she’s aluminum foil and potential.

So today I’m learning how to create form with aluminum foil proportions, curves, where things should actually sit.

I was inspired by a sculpture I saw in a store and wondered if I could do it too. So here’s to possibly unlocking another level of creativity. taken in Huntsville, Alabama by @_shuneil_

I’ve learned that having an idea and building it are two very different things. I can see something clearly in my head, but eventually I have to move beyond the vision and actually start putting the pieces together.

For me, building rarely means having everything figured out first. It looks more like starting with what I have, figuring out what I need, making adjustments along the way and continuing to move the idea forward.

Some things work. Some things change. Some things look completely different by the time I’m finished. But I’m learning not to wait for every detail to make sense before I begin.

I don’t think women ever stop needing to be social. I think what we want from our social lives changes.

We still need spaces where we can simply be women curious, social, open to meeting someone new and trying something different.

October 15, we’re taking Social Spritz to Homecoming.

I’ve been doing a lot of peopling lately. After a few very social weeks, apparently my recovery from being social is… going somewhere else to be social, but with a paintbrush.

Spent the evening at @thehotspotstudioshuntsville painting, laughing, and fellowshipping with the ladies of The Nest. It felt good to create something with absolutely no agenda attached to it.

If I had to sum up CITYCON in just a few words, I’m dreaming again.

Somewhere between the conversations, creativity, pouring, worship, laughter, ideas being shared, and watching people give themselves permission to believe in what God has said concerning their lives, I felt it happening in me too.

The dreams I had quieted, ideas that had been tucked away, and possibilities I stopped giving much thought to were still there.

I don’t know exactly what comes next, and I don’t have to have every detail figured out, but I can tell you this: I am dreaming again. 💕
