And how does 28 feel?
Like the ever-reliant coming of Spring.

This year was a busy one. I traveled on a plane for the first time since covid.
I DM’d DnD sessions late into many nights.
I married - and consequently have been photographed more times in the last six months than the last few years.
But I would not change the memories made (and documented) for the world.

To grow another year older, to feel friendships mature and watch those close evolve into the best versions of themselves is something I cherish, and can’t wait to carry over into the next one

27. Oh to be 27!
What an odd age. This past year has filled me with good stress, joy, and quite frankly flown by faster than it had any right to.

I bought a house! (with @mr.crmiller), I bought myself a NEW camera for the very first time! And besides all the things I bought, I met new friends and deepened bonds with old and I feel oh so rich for it

It's starting to feel real ya'll.

I can't thank my mom and Grace enough for helping me and providing emotional support on such short notice. AND for capturing what feels like a monumental task for the big day ahead

I came in with no expectations and surprised myself with which dress ended up being THE dress

And with that, we were settled

We've moved! Into a house! A couple years ago I would not have thought owning a house was anywhere in my near future, yet here we are.

So far, we've spent the last two months exposing original hardwood, installing new baseboards, and working to bring more color to this home, with many more fun projects in store.

But for now there is many a box to unpack by @_sivadhannah_

No one tells you that turning 26 feels like another transitionary milestone - most of us change insurance policies, freshly booted from our parents’ coverage. We renew and update our IDs. In that way it’s a forced reflection on all that’s changed and all that’s stayed the same in that time.

26 is feeling like a completely different person from who I was 10 years ago. And then that’s followed by the thought that the 16yr old version of me is present every day. I feel more compassion for her, and more in tune with that desire to fuel my inner child with every passing day.

This year has been a good one. I’m looking forward to spending this next one rekindling and strengthening friendships, and taking more time for my craft. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @_sivadhannah_

It's not often that I make edits like this anymore but mama Zari struck the perfect pose. Over the course of a year she has increased the Lincoln Park Zoo's pride size by four, with the birth of Pilipili last year, and her newest litter of three earlier in 2023.

Sibling Rivalry // Sibling Peace

So happy I was able to visit the newest litter of lion cubs at the Lincoln Park Zoo while they're still small. This one was happy to playfully bite and wrestle with older sibling Pilipili, who was born last year. Not a moment later, the two were content napping in the mid-morning sun
